The host and hostess are very kind and sweet, and very knowledgeable about the area. They pointed us to some great places to eat and sightsee, and (if it wasn't raining) places to see Mt. Fuji. Also, a really cool park with lots and lots of cherry blossoms and huge bushes full of azalea flowers. They're within easy walking distance of the town, in a very quiet but beautiful neighborhood. Also not far from some really great caves. They look after you like you are a long time friend. The lodge is very cozy and warm and breakdast was lovley. I highly recommend this lodge. Once we got to the Lodge, we were greeted with open arms, and chatted for at least two hours. The rooms were clean and inviting, and there were heaters to keep the temperature just right. We visited during winter and it was hard to wake up to sunrise because we wanted to stay in bed; we had chosen the room with tatami mat flooring. We tried the local Onsen and we were fortunate that the hosts would drive us there and back when we were finished. On our last day we had booked the high way bus from that station to the Tokyo, the hosts offered to drive us to the station. Also, one night we made our way back late one night and missed the last bus, the hosts were kind enough to drive us back. I would stay again next time we visit Mount Fuji and highly recommend the stay.
