Best part of the beach!!
Would highly recommend. Best part of the beach and fewer bungalows than other places on the island therefore less crowded. Worth paying the extra for a Seaview, gorgeous view and beach at your doorstop. Great food and excellent cocktails, would love to stay again!

Lovely location, beach could be cleaner
The island is lovely and the hotel is nice although in need of a little TLC in parts. We had a great time, the only shame was the amount of plastic rubbish on the beach, yoghurt pots, water bottles etc. It washes up on the beach overnight, which is a shame in itself but can’t be helped, but the hotel staff don’t seem to take the time to clean the beach. I picked up the rubbish whenever I saw it, and it’s a shared responsibility, but I do think the hotel could do more to maintain the beach as it’s the main selling point for staying here.

Perfect stress-free tropical idyll
A bit of a mission to get to (and for the love of Kylie please avoid Tigerline), but worth it when you arrive. Peaceful, feels remote, idyllic, friendly, relaxed. Everything you want from a Thai island, without what happens on Phi Phi or at Patong. The perfect place to get to straight from colder climes (if anything the long journey helps you fend off the jetlag), and seemed more Robinson Crusoe-esque than Thanya or Fantasy to the south. Highly recommend a proper massage at the spa - the setting, breeze and nearby waves lapping in will make it memorable. I’m sure there’s more to do, but I spent my three days (straight from London) largely reading, sleeping, dipping in the sea and generally relaxing. It was everything I needed it to be.

Paradise
This was our second time at the Mayalay Resort and we were not disappointed. The lovely Jay at reception always took care of everything we needed with a smile on her face. The restaurant/bar staff were always happy to accomodate any request, in fact, after I asked for some lemon for my tea the first morning, it just appeared on our table every morning after that as soon as the staff saw us arriving. The bungalows are basic but clean and comfortable. A safe has been added to the rooms this year, which is a big plus. All in all, a magical setting with lovely, friendly staff. We're booking for next year!!

an underrated hotel which we recommend
I booked this as a second choice, our first choice was full by the time we came to book. I thought it was going to be fine then saw a couple of bad reviews just before our arrival. We had a nightmare beach hut in koh lipe called zanom and my heart sank. I needn't have worried, we loved this place and it deserves much better ratings than it currently has. The location is superb and gobsmackingly beautiful. The bungalows themselves are spacious and comfortable while lacking a little decoration and personality they are kept nice and clean. The whole island suffers a little with slow service and lack of language proficiency sometimes giving the impression of aloofness, but just chill out and relax - you are on what often seems like your own personal paradise.

A place to get away from it all
The island was amazing for what we wanted which was a bit of R&R after the how hectic phi phi and Patong were. The resort is situated in a great location and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast really isn't great, can get the basics but the food runs out and they don't refill it, also they close the breakfast earlier than 10 as they say on check in. But other than that it a perfect place for a couple oor family looking to experience a true type of island lifestyle. Not atms or 7 elevens

Beautiful location on the beach
We spent eight nights at the Mayalay. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Alice at reception and we knew straight away we were going to be looked after wonderfully. All the hotel staff were friendly, professional and couldn't do enough for us. The bar staff had our drinks ready before we even asked, as they knew what we liked. The spa on the beach was wonderful, we used it every day. We would recommend this resort to anybody looking for relaxation in a paradise setting.

Love the place!
This was our first night in Thailand and propably one of the Best! Hotel staff were more thank nice and all the time ready to help. It seemed like they really tried to make our holiday success. Area is nice and quiet. Pools are Very nice and clean. Beach was very nice too. Only problem was which one to use pool or beach:)

Like a dream
We really liked Mayalay resort. It is simple but clean and right at the beach. The beach mest the Hotel was the best part of the beach on Koh Ngai. The staff was very friendly and we could book one extra Night. The breakfast was ok and you could order some single dish if you liked. There was not no many vegan or vegetarian options for breakfast. The food on the resort was good. We want to go back!

Bästa läget på stranden, enkla men rena och städade bungalows. Toalett och dusch fungerade fint i luftig miljö. Matsedel och frukost var ganska liten men omelett och det vanligaste fanns. Fantastiskt snorkling utanför hotellet på ganska grunt vatten.

The beautifull beach and nice and friendly staff made up for some of the issues we have about this hotel. However, I am sad to say that we were very disappointed with our stay. The bed was bad and the pillows (even the new ones we asked for) was hard and smelled strange. The cabin are in no means luxurious (hols in the wall and in the mosquito net and damp overall smell) neither is the breakfast. The cabin as well as the overall resort looks old and and needs a serious update. To be fair we had the worst cabin on the resort, which was maybe just us being unlucky as there were plenty other cabins available. Overall, I think you can do much better in Koh Ngai for even a cheaper price.

Hôtel en ruine !!! Une honte, les photos présentées doivent dater de la construction et aucun entretien n'a été effectué depuis. Le petit déjeuner est en dessous de tout, les jus de fruit sont fait à base de poudre et je ne vous parle même pas des confitures et du miel colonisés par divers insectes ! A éviter à tout prix !!!

Erholungsparadies!!
Wir haben uns in Mayalay Beach Resort auf Koh Ngai sehr gut erholt. Die Leute sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Anlage ist sehr schön, ruhig und sauber. Sie hat nur 19 Hütten. Schöner Strandabschnitt vor dem Hotel. Unser Erholungsurlaub war rundum perfekt. Wir wollen wiederkommen!

Mayalay trevligt hotell med stor mysfaktor jag och min fru brukar boka ett par nätter här varje år när vi bor på Koh Lånta. Det är mycket trevligare att bo på Mayalay än Fantasy som är ett ganska tråkigt hotell vi har bott där en gång.

Olemme olleet täällä useita kertoja ja paikka on luonnonkauneudessaan aivan ihana. Sijaitsee parhaalla paikalla Ko Ngain rantaviivassa. Tilat ovat vuosien varrella hieman rapistuneet. Ravintolassa oikein hyvä ruoka.

Perfekt paradis ö. Inga fordon alls. Enkla bungalows men där allt fungerar bra, så som AC, dusch och toalett. Inga småkryp då personalen håller efter allting mycket bra. Bra service och bra engelsktalande personal. God frukost. Vi bokade en privat transfer till krabi flygplats direkt från receptionen, och allt fungerade perfekt. Hit kommer vi igen för perfekta soldagar i paradiset. Mer avslappnad plats får man leta efter. Dock finns det ingen ATM, men man kan betala med kortet så det är inga problem.

Mysiga och fräscha bungalows. Väldigt nära till stranden även om man inte har beachfront. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Bra frukost. Restaurangen har god och stark thaimat men är ganska dyr och lägger på 10% på notan i serviceavgift.

Einfache Hütten in der Natur auf toller Insel
Das Hotel liegt direkt am Strand mit wunderschönen Ausblick auf die gegenüberliegenden Inseln. Die Hotelzimmer sind alles freistehende, einfach eingerichtete Hütten. Wer etwas Natur mag und nicht unbedingt Luxus braucht, wird sich hier wohl fühlen. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut und am schöneren Strandteil der Insel. Gutes Frühstück

Tolle Lage, direkt am Strand.
Sehr freundliches Personal. Wurden bei Ankunft am Strand sofort empfangen.Manager half bei allen Belangen. Das Essen war in Ordnung, dennoch viel zu teuer. Die Bungalows leider viel zu teuer. Wunderbarer Blick auf das Meer.

Sehr schöne Anlage
Der Aufenthalt hat uns sehr gefallen,die Bungslows sind von außen aus Holz, die Wände innen aus Beton, so dass die Bungalows ziemlich geschlossen sind und von außen trotzdem schön aussehen. Die Terrasse ist auch geräumig und fast jeder Bungalow hat etwas Meerblick , so dass man eigentlich keinen Strandbungalow haben muss. Dieser Teil des Strandes hat auch bei Flut noch einen Sandstreifen zum Liegen. Schnorcheln kann man auch sehr schön an dem Riff. Das Frühstück war gut, es gab warmes Essen, Müsli, Joghurt, Obst, Toast, Marmelade und Ei. Die Insel ist sehr klein und traumhaft schön. Hier kann man absolut entspannen. Am Strand gibt es ein paar nette Restaurants , das Essen war immer lecker. Wir würden das Resort wieder buchen

Einfaches Hotel im Paradies
Die Insel ist toll. Nach 3-4 Stunden mit der Fähre erreicht man Koh Ngai. Kleine Insel mit nur sehr wenigen Resorts und Unterhaltungsmöglichkeiten. Aufenthalt von 2-3 Nächten ist ausreichend. Wir waren 4 Nächte. Dafür gibt es jedoch auf der Insel zu wenig Möglichkeiten den Abend zu gestalten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Check In war einfach. Unsere Koffer mussten wir selbst über den Strand schleppen, weil bei unserer Ankunft vom Hotel niemand gewartet hat. Bei der Abreise hat das jedoch besser funktioniert. Das Resort besteht aus wenigen Bungalows, was eine sehr ruhige Atmosphäre garantiert. Es waren immer Liegestühle am Strand frei. Wir hatten einen Seaview Bungalow in der ersten Reihe. Für die Lage zahlt es sich aus ein bisschen mehr zu bezahlen. Generell sind die Preise jedoch überteuert, weil die Bungalows schon sehr abgewohnt sind. Eine Sanierung wäre erforderlich. Für uns war die Lage direkt am Strand Luxus genug. Wer jedoch darauf wert legt dass die Zimmer neu sind, sollte nicht buchen. Kein TV. Das Frühstück war toll. In kleinem Rahmen mit Meerblick. Für das kleine Resort dennoch viel Auswahl. Völlig ausreichend. Die Wanderung durch den Jungle zum (nicht so leicht zu findenden) Viewpoint zahlt sich aus. Einsame Bucht mit Traumstrand!

Il personale è davvero gentilissimo e disponibile. La camera era spaziosa ma soprattutto la location è la migliore dell'isola perché centrale. La spiaggia è davvero stupenda senza roccia.

Die Umgebung ist ein Traum
Aber die Bungalow sind in die Jahre gekommen aber wer nicht auf Luxus steht ist hier richtig. ..Am Essen müssen sie etwas ändern oder den Koch austauschen. ...mein Papa Salat hat total Schimmlig geschenkt und auch andere Gäste haben gejammert. ..Der Campingplatz daneben hatte sehr gute Küche. ..Preislich ist die Insel etwas teurer als der Rest von Thailand. ..generell ist Thailand teurer geworden.

Hotel très bien entretenu avec service de chambre et serviettes à disposition chaque jour, bel espace, bonne literie, vue partielle sur la mer, calme et très belle plage, personnel très accueillant et serviable, wifi même sur la plage, restaurantion correcte. Très bel endroit pour se ressourcer...

Sehr entspannter, romantischer Aufenthalt mit 2 Übernachtungen. Abenteuerliche Anreise mit Tigerline-Fähre und Umsteigen ins Longtailboot auf "hoher See" - nur etwas für Sportliche und Mutige! Sehr freundlicher Empfang; guter Service. Würden trotz einiger Mängel wiederkommen.

Strandbungalow zum relaxen
Wir kamen aus Bangkok mit dem Nachtzug bis Trang und dann zum PakmengPier und mit Longtailboat ca. 45min rüber zur Insel. Kho Ngai ist eine kleine Trauminsel, die noch eine ist..nur fünf Anlagen auf der Insel und wer Beachfront möchte sollte daher vorbuchen...mit den Bungalows am ruhigen Beach eine Perle für Ruhesuchende..wenn auch schon eine etwas ältere Anlage, so spührt man hier noch das Robinsonfeeling .-) einfach mal ohne Partys Natur genießen ...nebenan eine kleine Ministrandbar mit nicht zu lauter raggae-lounge macht den Abend mit einem Drink perfekt. Affenlaute und Meeresrauschen, Sonnenaufgänge in allen Farben...Schnorcheln kann man hier gleich an der Riffkante und es gibt genug trips zu Nachbarinseln oder auch durch eine Höhle schwimmen... ..das was man kennt aus Asien, die longtailboote fahren hier längst nicht so oft und irgendwann stören die wenigen einen garnicht mehr ... Verpflegung im Mayalay mit einem oppulenten Frühstücksbuffet und Blick auf die ruhige See, ein Genuss...sehr freundliches und höfliches Personal, leckere Küche auch am Abend mit Snapper, Baracuda, Prawns....
