"This Hotel is a very good stopping-off point in the Borders. It's a good value 3 star hotel in a great location on the banks of the River Tweed, a short walk from Kelso's old town square. We have stayed here three times on our way to the Highlands, and will do so again."

"Loved our long weekend at the Black Bull. Very busy pub, but as we were on the second floor no noise issues. Smashing Sunday lunch and all the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lady behind the bar who checked us in. Only issue was no lift and the stairs are quite steep, so definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Would not hesitate to recommend and will stay again. "

"I had a very comfortable stay. The hotel is in a beautiful area and has a fascinating history. A member of staff kindly called me to advise if I wanted to pre-order dinner because I would have arrived after the kitchen closed. The meal was exquisite and a real treat. All team members encountered were very pleasant and customer-focused. Apart from minor wear and tear here and there the en-suite room was great. The full breakfast was hearty and substantial and cooked perfectly."
