Set slightly back from the road and surrounded by a lush tropical garden of mango and palm trees, this private single-story retreat offers a peaceful island atmosphere with unbeatable proximity to the ocean. This charming 600-square-foot villa comfortably accommodates two adults in a king bed, which may be converted into two twin beds upon request. Would be a perfect vacation spot if not for the noise. The property is located across the street from a park and there was music and loud party noises every single evening/night. That combined with pretty hard bed made it for quite tiresome stay. When making the booking I was reading the reviews for all the villas and I thought this one would not have a problem, but it's hard to imagine that there would be much difference, this park is just so noisy with the non-stop parties going on. ##### Justyna W. Both in our early 50's and frequent visitors to the islands (Wife is a flight attendant) I just want to start by saying ditto to all the previous comments about Ralph - helpful, responsive, casual and flexible. Makes you feel like old friends visiting, not renters. We had a late afternoon flight out and asked for late checkout. Because nobody was checking in the day we were leaving Ralph told us to just stay as long as we needed. We will come back again based on that alone! We were familiar with the property before booking but had not seen the inside of the villas. Decided to go for it based on location. Needless to say we were not disappointed. Everything you need to stay in. Clean and comfortable. But if you want to go out, everything you need is in easy walking distance. Grocery store, restaurants, rentals - bike, snorkel, surf and paddle boards. 25 steps from the front door to waterfront park bench to check out morning surf. There is a nice BEGINNERS, mushy longboard break right there. I have been surfing a long time and it was a nice mellow place to get wet. But, if you are a short boarder or looking for an exciting Maui break you won't find it here - you will need a car and have to drive. Otherwise, you can get by here without a car. Only "negative" I have to say is purely personal, and a bit silly. I like big fluffy pillows for sleeping. The queen bed came with four pillows that were on the flat side. We spent a week in Villa 1 and will absolutely be returning to Villas by the Cove. We met Gal when we arrived at our Villa from the airport, he was nice as can be and showed us the villa and shared plans for the future renovations taking place at Villas by the Cove. They are going to make an already great property even better! The location in Kihei is perfect and allows easy walking to dining, bars, the grocery store and most importantly, beautiful beaches! A very short walk down the street will have you on Charley Young beach in less than 2 minutes. We walked the Kama'ole beaches in the morning, but for beach lounging you cannot beat the "secret" beach across the street. Gal showed us the beach which is literally across the street from the complex and we spent time there everyday and had the small beach to ourselves for several hours each day. Well maybe we didn't have the beach totally to ourselves because we often found ourselves in the water with sea turtles! Cove beach is a great spot to surf and stand up paddle board, the surf was usually smooth and great for SUP and new surfers, but when the surf is up it is fun to watch the locals come surf. You can sit at the secret beach all day and watch perfect Maui sunsets or if you are getting ready to head out for dinner you can walk 30 feet across the street and take in the sunset before you head out. The Villa itself was perfect, the renovated decor was great and reminded us of the finished products you see on the popular TV show Fixer Upper. The kitchen was well stocked, we ate breakfast in the villa on the days we didn't make the short walk to Kihei Cafe and if you wanted to make dinner at the villa you certainly could. There were also beach chairs which we used everyday, a cooler, a boogie board and beach towels. All of our communication from the time we booked until our departure was great, Gal and Chelsea were quick to respond to any questions before our arrival and were available during our stay if needed. We are excited to see the Villas once all of the renovations are complete and in probably the best review you can give a property we will 100% be staying at Villas by the Cove again. ##### Wendy R. I have found over the years that my standards aren’t always the same as property owners standards, not that I am picky but honestly if you are going to rent your home as a vacation rental make it right. The property itself was so charming. Super clean and modern and really convenient. The pool is so nice and our room amhad everything we needed. we thought Overall it was just so nice and a great value. It’s steps from the beach, but keep in mind that the properties surrounding this one arent necessarily as nice and as kept up as this one. A little further down the road you hit where it gets really posh and nice. However we were looking for somethig affordable because we didn’t plan on being in the room much! The communication with the host was excellent. We had an issue with loud people late at night at the park across the street and it was resolved very quick! We spent 4 nights after staying at The Sheraton for a week and this was the perfect place to escape the crowds and it felt like a private Villa with how quiet it was. It was awesome to have our own Villa as they are all not attached to one another. The location was amazing as it was literally a few steps away from the beach where you can watch surfers all day. Location is central to beaches and restaurants, all very walkable. The villa was well apportioned and a great home base. The outside large lanai and pool area was a great place to end the day or just sit by the pool. The property manager provided good detail and was easily accessible.
