I grew up vacationing on Sugar Beach when there were very few condo complexes (Think early '70s). It was good to be back and away from the hustle and bustle. Most mornings, I was the only person on the beach! The beach is perfect for smaller children as the sand is great for building castles and the water is usually very calm. The complex itself is quiet and well situated to go anywhere on the island. This was a solo-recharge trip for me... absolutely the right choice. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Management checked in with me after my arrival and again once I returned home. The condo was well appointed and had everything I needed. 10/10 recommend. ##### Kathryn S. We really enjoyed our stay in this little studio. It was very well stocked with all you would need - towels, linens, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, etc. Having beach chairs, a cooler, an umbrella and even a boogie board to throw in the car for our daily jaunts was fantastic. The full sized murphy bed was comfy and while we didn't watch any TV while we were there, it was nice to have the option. We looked forward to breakfasts out on the lanai in the morning while looking over the lawn and watching the water out to the left. And each night walking along the beach after sunset was beautiful. A few little nitpicks - while the place did not feel dirty, the bathroom and kitchenette windows were a little cruddy and the washer/dryer unit has maybe seen it's day as it was not very effective in cleaning our clothes. Also, the sink disposal unit was not working (we do not use a disposal at home so it was no big deal but instructions on how to use it were provided so we tried and found it not to be working). If you know what to expect when you arrive here, then you'll be perfectly happy with the accommodations. We were and would stay again the next time we are in Maui. ##### Thomas L. I love that the unit is a corner unit and that you can hear the waves crashing when the lanai door is open. You do get some road noise but it's not overpowering. The unit was a clean, bed was firm and comfortable, and amenities were adequate. The grounds were clean and maintained, loved the pool and the yard overlooking the water. Proximity is central to just about anything on the island. We loved that we weren't isolated to one corner of the island. Everything was within a 30-40 minute drive. The kitchen had everything we needed for the cooking we did. We used the great lawn area every day as there both sunny and shaded areas all along their beach front. Note, that there is a coral reef right out front but swimming off the beach in front of the canoe club next door we found only sand. Also, unit 309 is close to the road and road noise is an issue. But shut the doors and windows and turn on the ac and we slept great. ##### Dave P. Reviewer Comments: Excellent but there should be a bigger tv on wall opposite of bed to watch tv. Have two tv’s when you have a set up like that. The following condos we went to did and it was great. We were in #309 and it was clean, cute, and had everything you could possibly need for a beach vacation, down to the aloe for sunburns. We loved that it was just a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the main Kihei strip, very peaceful but super easy and quick to get to anywhere. 15-20 minutes to our fave beaches (Kam 1 & Ulua) and gives you a head start (over the west side) for Road to Hana and Haleakala. It was not very pleasant to see a doormat especially. The flat itself was clean, but the incident was very unpleasant. The pictures show as the flat is bigger with the big mirror on the wall. But I guess I didn't check carefully enough. I also didn't see the folding bed carefully. It would be good if the flat description states about the folding bed. ##### Namy Y. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I did love our stay at Kealia Resort. Our only complaint was the lady upstairs who smoked often and the smoke filtered down into our condo every morning while we were having breakfast on the lanai. The smoking did go on all day. My husband did bring it to the office lady's attention, but within a day, the upstairs lady had a friend over who lit up a cigar. We were very disappointed that the smoking did not stop, even though smoking is prohibited on the lanai. ##### Diane F. Reviewer Comments: location was great, right by the beach. amenities were nice, and there was a boogie board in our closet. however, you can really hear the waves at night and wind, but more importantly traffic. i'm sensitive to noise so it's difficult for me to sleep to that. AC is loud as well, but if you're okay with noise, it shouldn't be a problem. they were also doing construction on the property early in the morning, so sleeping in would not work. i'm guessing the construction will be done by your next trip. we also saw some small cockroaches in the kitchen. the response that we got when we informed them was "that's the price you pay for paradise." they weren't a big deal but if you're very anti-cockroach, this may not be the place for you. they do spray it, supposedly. ##### Tina H. ---
