"We had been at 2 different VRBOs for the week prior to this. We prefer the privacy and uniqueness of those experiences to that of a big resort where we felt like more of a number in a concrete jungle. And the price/value was so much better with the VRBO route. An example was the $40 per night money grab for parking. "

"Many great things about this property. Prime location, attentive staff, enjoyable pools and water features to name a few. The building doesn’t have a new feel and we were frustrated by the lack of elevators. Our room had a great view of the pools and the ocean but because of the elevator placement we had to walk over a third of a mile to get to our car in the self park lot. It’s one of the poorest design I have seen. "

"I booked and paid for a 2 bedroom villa for 8 days, once I got to the Sheraton, you check in with the front desk but they have NO control over the reservation. We were not reserved for a 2 bedroom villa, instead, a 1 bedroom villa and adjoining studio. A wall separating with double doors. Not what we paid for or wanted. We were traveling as a family and wanted the shared space. Based on what we got I would have preferred 2 hotel rooms for half the cost! The owner or someone split the reservation so that we were suppose to change rooms halfway thru the stay and after 4 days move to the 2 bedroom villa except we had a catamaran trip reserved, no way to move. They just kept us in this arrangement knowing we were very dissatisfied!! We were booked as owners? So charged an owner daily fee of $40. Then they combine the resort fee with your parking fee so an additional $40. The confusion at the 2 reservations took us 3 hours to get in our room. We were booked under 2 different owners names so we hassled the whole time charging anything to the room. I carried the confirmation of the room with us to constantly prove we were in the room. Because they book you as owners, your room is only cleaned every 4 days. The hotel is not able to help you with anything!! I highly do not recommend anyone booking for these villas, you are at the mercy of owners who will not respond and help you, the hotel will not help you and you are treated horrible for tons of money. "

"We had a fantastic stay here with my wife and son. The air conditioning in each room was a huge plus and made everything very comfortable. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach and right across the street from great restaurants and convenient grab-and-go spots. Marinela was a wonderful host—kind, responsive, and very helpful throughout our stay. We’d happily come back!"

"Extremely friendly and responsive staff. Well maintained rooms, pools and grounds. Food, drink and marketplace offer delicious and thoughtful options. Fantastic location for all you’d want to do in Kauai, but you could also stay and never need to leave the property. The design of property, especially pool areas, were a safe place for our kids to play and roam. Staying at Koloa Landing Resort is one of the best family vacation experiences we’ve had. We look forward to returning and sharing our positive experience with others."

"We didn’t have extra sheets/bedding for the pull out sofa and had to ask the front staff. Otherwise, clean condo, kitchen is nice and easy access to the beach. "

"My family had a wonderful stay! Walkable to both the beach and the pool/athletic club as well as coffee shops/restaurants and shops. Beautiful condo and the grounds were kept very nicely! Will definitely be back!"
