Lixouri

"The apartment is in a very central position in Lixouri. Ideal for the square, the ferry and all that Lixouri has to offer. The apartment was clean when we arrived, was cleaned once during our stay - perfect for us. It is well refurbished and had all the amenities we needed and as described. We had good sleeps (apart from the church bells on Sunday morning but this is to be expected in any Greek town). Good bed and pillows. Excellent blinds to keep it dark. Very nice balcony for two people...

"Astir was literally across the street from the ocean. I did not have a full ocean view from my room, but I could see it from my balcony on the side of the building. It was a single room, so the bathroom was small, but the bed was comfortable. It was a lovely room for the price. The staff were very nice and friendly. There was a bar open in the afternoon/evening with a wonderful view of the ocean. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I would stay here again. "

Aenos Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A wonderful stay at Aenos hotel. The bed was super comfortable with nice linens. The staff was exceptional - so helpful and friendly. From the front desk staff, to the breakfast staff and the cleaning crew...all of them amazing. Great location as it is in the center of the action (something to be aware of as sometimes there is music and noise at night). The breakfast buffet was superb! Great selection from yogurt, nuts, cereal, eggs and breakfast meats and some homemade sweets that were yummy. Overall it was a fantastic home-away-from-home stay!"

F ZEEN KEFALONIA - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent

"Staff were super friendly. Hotel felt spacious, lots of sun loungers to choose from on the beach. Easy walk to tavernas and bars, as well as a mini market, both beach side and up in the village. The yoga classes were great-not all for yoga bunnies which was a relief!! The gym facilities super. Amazing sunsets every night. Concierge helped us with taxis, hire cars and gave a great outside recommendation for our anniversary dinner one night. Loved it"

Electra Kefalonia Hotel & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"Situated near the airport, the hotel/resort is easy to get to. The hotel will arrange airport transport for a small fee. It is well staffed and exceptionally clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is on the ocean with access to a nice nearby beach. Several economical restaurants are within 2-3 minutes walk. Rental cars are available at the property (requiring international driving license) and are a must for seeing the area and the island. There are no shuttles to nearby towns or other parts of the island, so the rental car is the way to go. The restaurant food is very good, as is the free breakfast. The only "down side" would be the for the breakfast buffet where food was not replaced for long periods, example fried eggs and other items went empty for a while before they were refreshed. Other than that the place is really nice."

Tetra Retreat

10/10 Excellent

"My gf and I went and it was great, the main pool was practically free most of the time due to the personal pools most rooms had. The room pool it’s self was lovely and a nice size, although if you get too close to the edge you can see/are visible to other rooms as the walls either side ends. Each morning you get a lovely breakfast basket of bread/pastries and then select your main dish from the menu. Really enjoyed!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Kerameies?

The best area to stay in Kerameies is the village centre itself, particularly for those looking for a tranquil escape with convenient access to local life.

The village of Kerameies is a traditional, quiet settlement located in the hills, offering superb views of the Ionian Sea and the surrounding countryside. It's characterised by its traditional stone houses, narrow lanes, and a central square where locals gather. It's a place for those who appreciate a slower pace and want to experience authentic Greek island living.

Couples seeking a peaceful and romantic getaway will find Kerameies ideal. The serene environment, charming local tavernas serving fresh, local cuisine, and the opportunities for scenic walks through olive groves create a relaxing atmosphere. The village is also a great base for exploring the island's south, including the beautiful beaches of Avithos and Trapezaki, which are just a short drive away.

For travellers prioritising a relaxed holiday, perhaps with a focus on local culture and a quiet environment, Kerameies offers a wonderful base.

When is the best time to go to Kerameies?

The best time to go to Kerameies is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather, with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, great for enjoying the island's natural beauty without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural surroundings are particularly green and inviting.

Couples looking for a relaxing holiday will appreciate the quieter atmosphere during these times. You can enjoy strolls through the villages, dine at local tavernas, and visit beaches like those near Argostoli without feeling rushed. It's an ideal period for exploring the island's hidden coves and charming small towns at a leisurely pace.

Families travelling with children will also find these periods more comfortable. The milder temperatures are better for outdoor activities, and the beaches are less crowded, making for a more relaxed experience.
