This was a nice cottage in a great location. With a little investment, this place could be truly fantastic. Consequently, this review will hopefully be out of date quickly. The good: Nice property, on a quiet arm of the lake. Nice yard with lots of trees. The kids had fun exploring the mushrooms and toads in the front and back yards. The slide on the dock was a lot of fun for the kids.Comes with boats (canoes, a kayak, a row boat), paddles, life jackets; this was a lot of fun. A nice little beach in the back yard. Very spacious. Many beds for many guests.Pots and pans were nice. The bad:The water is not drinkable. There's a reverse osmosis system installed under the kitchen sink, but it wasn't mentioned, so presumably doesn't work? Bringing all the water you need is a pain. The kitchen knives were very dull. There was an OK serrated knife but the non-serrated knives were almost unusably dull and need replacing and/or sharpening. There is a leak under a sink (basement) with a bowl of water to catch the leaks. One of us didn't notice and accidentally put her toiletries in the bowl and they got all wet.The paddles are falling apart, and there are too few. The boats could use some fixing up. The rowboat had a crack and leaked. One canoe had a minor leak.Wasn't the most clean when we arrived (e.g. under furniture, including a previous guest's underpants). You have to take your garbage with you or to a local transfer station. An axe would be nice.
