The staff was so helpful and I really liked the interior of the hotel. The neighborhood is a bit disshelved and the main road is under significant repair which is a distraction but it is safe. I order some Chinese food with no spicy sign, but came with spicy pepper(yes, not a lot). When I ask for changes, they try to wash it and redo, I refused and new one coming with small plate and 3 times more salt be added. I asked for water to add to it and try to compromised. But unfortunately it is still too salty. When I called up reception I was told that this is no longer available (yet it is listed on their hotel services). This is important since the hotel is not withing walking distance of anything interesting. They have really bad wifi (I stayed in hotels that cost 1/10th of this and the connection speed was excellent. They would give you a login and you have to login every few hours or so. Not only that, but the login would expire at odd hours and you would have to call again to get another one. In my 2 weeks in Nepal this was the only place from where I could not do VoIP phone calls due to bad internet connection. Bad quality food - avoid the restaurants at all costs (and they do charge a lot). For a 4-5 Start hotel they did not have a razor for me. I had just returned from a 2 week trek without showers. My expectations for a hotel were as low as can be and Everest Hotel could still not meet them. There is really nothing going for this hotel at all and they charge a lot of money (for this part of the world) more than 20 to 30 times what a decent hotel would charge. Please learn from my experience and stay away from this place.
