The staff at the front desk are competent and friendly, I enjoyed breakfast whenever I had it and the daily yoga classes (that I always slept through - not a morning person) were well received by my more flexible associates. The Hotel has a nice courtyard and is down a side street off the main drag in the center of Thamal. There was music at a nearby restaurant but I got to sleep fine. The toilet seat on the shared toilet was busted off and lying on the ground for the whole two days I was there, the carpets were stained, the blankets were too thin for the chilly night air, not all the light bulbs worked in my room--and those which did were such low wattage that it was hard even to read--the t.v. did not work, the bed was hard, and the electrical outlets were so loose that I had to hold my phone charger in place in order for it to work. Great and friendly staff, they would help you with anything you need. Great location in the center of Thamel.Very basic but good value for the money. If you are a trekker and looking for a transition from the USA standard to Nepal Tea House standard...this is it.
