The house is located only about 100. metres from the entrance to the Karkonosze National Park, in the immediate vicinity of the historic Wang Stave Church, which is one of the most important landmarks and starting points in this part of Karpacz Górny. It is one of the best locations in the Karkonosze Mountains—quiet, green, and yet very close to the most important mountain attractions.

The Pod Jeleńcem house is located next to our second property—Villa Pod Jeleńcem. Despite their proximity, both properties operate independently of one another. The house features a separate, private car park as well as a secluded, private garden area that is available exclusively to the house’s guests, ensuring comfort, tranquility, and privacy.

    Hiking Trails and Mountain Hikes

There are numerous hiking trails of varying difficulty levels in the immediate vicinity —from easy walking paths like the Chomontowa Trail or the path to St. Anne’s Chapel to more challenging routes leading to the Pielgrzymy rock formations and Słonecznik.

One of the most classic and popular hikes is the trail from Wang to Sniegopiek, which leads through Polana, past the Samotnia mountain hut—picturesquely situated by the Little Pond—and on to the Strzecha Akademicka mountain hut and the Silesian House. The ascent to the summit on this route takes an average of 2.5 to 3.5 hours each way and allows for breaks at the mountain huts along the way.

For hikers in good physical condition, longer ridge hikes are also an option. From the area around the Schlesierhaus or Schneekoppe, the tour can continue through the western part of the Giant Mountains towards Szklarska Poręba. This full-day hike covers about 25 km and usually takes around 8 hours, offering sweeping panoramic views and opportunities to stop at mountain huts.

    Winter Sports

In winter, the area surrounding the lodge offers excellent conditions for winter sports. About 300 metres away is the modern Pod Wangiem ski slope, ideal for beginners and families with children. The ski lift is equipped with snowmaking systems and lighting, making evening skiing possible.

Advanced skiers can take advantage of larger ski resorts in Karpacz, including Kopa and Winterpol in the Biały Jar Valley, which offer longer runs and comprehensive infrastructure.

Cross-country skiers with their own equipment can use trails in the Karpacz Górny area when snow conditions are suitable, including along Chomontowa Street and on wide forest trails. For the most demanding cross-country skiing, Jakuszyce—about 40 km away—is an excellent choice. There, you’ll find numerous professionally groomed trails, rental stations, and full-service facilities.

    Cycling (outside the winter season)

Outside the winter season, the surrounding area offers excellent conditions for cycling tours. In the Karpacz Górny region, there are numerous mountain bike trails that wind through forest roads and mountain paths of varying difficulty levels.

For road cyclists, the Pod Czołem Pass is a special attraction—one of the region’s best-known and most challenging climbs, which is regularly used for training rides and has also been part of stages in major cycling races.

Jakuszyce offers a particularly well-developed cycling infrastructure, featuring numerous mountain bike routes—including singletrack trails—as well as looped routes for athletic training and leisurely rides.

    Nearby Attractions

About 150 metres from the house, there is a large children’s playground and a fenced-in basketball court. There is also a safe sledding hill nearby for younger children.

    Recreation and Water Parks

Just a short distance from the house are popular recreational and wellness facilities —the water park at the Gołębiewski Hotel in Karpacz and a larger thermal spa and swimming area in Cieplice, a district of Jelenia Góra.

    Shopping and Daily Life

The most convenient place to shop is the Dino supermarket, about a 4-minute drive towards the city centre. Basic items are also available at a small store located about 200 metres from the house, near the municipal car park.
