Staying at the Leela Palace was one of them. This hotel is truly outstanding. We have seldom been made to feel quite so special as we did at the Leela Palace - and that is truly incredible from a large hotel. We have just completed a 12 week trip through Southern India and Sri Lanka and stayed in some wonderful hotels. My wife and i both consider the Leela not only the best on the trip, but one of the best we have ever stayed at. Staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely super friendly and every single one we met (and we engaged with a lot!) went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience. It seems almost unfair to give special mentions given how lovely everyone was, but we would particularly like to thank the following Vishnu - the sommelier who introduced us to Grover Shiraz (Vijay Amritraj edition). Chandra and Kumar who looked after us at the pool Yasodha and Jeetu in the bar Vigneshwar, Kunal and Shaghul (plus Jayesh the sous-chef) in the restaurants Sonali and Shomali in Guest Relations. Once we arrived at our hotel the duty manager Amandeep Singh said the room is still no ready and to wait 20/25min for the room to be cleaned. That is completely unacceptable. The Front Office Manager Tamana Kaundal then advised that they can put us in a 2-bed bedroom instead and move us the next day - which would be a huge inconvenience as we had a busy day scheduled and would not want to repack our belongings to move to another room. Service was horrible and rooms were out dated. I will not be returning and would not advise anyone else to stay here either."
