"Great hotel near the Asahikawa Station and the Aeon Mall, which was convenient for the Asahikawa Snow Festival (or would have been if I hadn't booked the week before the festival :-) ). The hotel is also, extremely conveniently, in front of a bus stop that comes straight from the airport. Simply stay on the bus until the stop after the station and step into the hotel. For Japan, the size of the twin room is _massive!_ Plenty of room for luggage, clothes storage, and potentially cricket practice (please don't play cricket in your hotel room :-) ). The raised bathroom is, however, the standard 'small' size for a Japanese hotel room, but is perfectly servicable. There's plenty of food options nearby with the main shopping street only a block away (which leads off from the train station), and the Aeon Mall's food court and restaurants are a five minute walk away."

"Old school, old fashioned (read: dated decor, manual check-outs, actual keys for your room), traditional spa resort. The mixed onsen is great, lots of space and different temperatures so you can easily find your perfect spot. Definitely go half board as the evening buffet is excellent. Highly recommended."

"I enjoyed the abundant dinner and breakfast. many traditional foods. staff was friendly and nice even with my lack of japanese language. baths were run down. property was very old - needed refurbishment in the 1980s. compared to price of other nearby properties, the tradeoff (discount) was acceptable. "I was disappointed with the quality and cleanliness of the room for the price. It was rather worn. Additionally the air conditioning was not strong and could not be adjusted with a thermostat. Probably the worst thing was that even though it was a non-smoking room there was a faint smell of stale smoke and part of the carpet had a very bad smell too."
