Golden Week Gem 💎
Great location at Tenmonkan district, easy walking distance to tram station, hotel is obviously old but considerably well maintained, room is big and spacious as seen on pics, onsen is definitely its draw!

Great value for the money
Great value for the money. The hotel is old but nicely refurnished. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Great location with good restaurants nearby. Easy access by city street cars and buses.

Great family hotel
Been here twice. Still good as before. Nice Japanese breakfast, nice onsen. There are 4 breakfast plans so ask reception for details. Outdoor onsen was under renovation. It can be noisy from fellow guests since the door wasn't sealed well.

Very nice rooms; staff were very helpful! The onsen was large and clean. Breakfast was an experience! Staff upgraded our room when they saw the height of our family. I'm short, but my sons and husband are all over 6' Command of English was not great. Fortunately, one of my sons speaks Japanese and could communicate for us. Really nice place. Oh-- for those who are unfamiliar 'tatami' tells you the size of the room, not how many beds there are!

Nakahara Bessou is a great place to stay
Good visit and excellent condition of the hotel. The onsen bath is worth visiting and the tatami mat room was VERY comfortable. Really appreciate the attentive service-- staff will setup the futon beds when you go out in the evening & re-arranged parked cars to accommodate our early AM departure.

Overall, I really enjoy the experience at Nakahara Bessou. Staff is very friendly and its location is very close to tenmonkan and shiroyama.Well reccommended.

I had a great time. Location was great! Staff was friendly. Wifi wasnt quite strong in certain rooms but it was OK cuz I was on holiday and there wasnt much need for the internet.

Great location, old Hotel
Great location, walking distance to shopping and "hip" area, very close to the famous hotpot place, 10 mins drive to Amu plaza. hotel charged a small fee for parking (around 1k jpy for two nights). hotspring closes at 11pm which was a bit early but guess Kagoshima is not a big city. no skin care products at the hotspring, just standard (one brand only) shampoo/shower gel, etc. hotel is small and old, but clean and the room we stayed in was of a very good size considering we are at the heart of the city. I don't think you need to drive if you are staying in this hotel, but we stayed for over a week and the car was needed for other spots.

Great family holidays.
Had a wonderful time. Enjoyed our family time there. I will stay there again if I have a chance to go back to Kagoshima.

I will visit them again if heading to Kagoshima!
Onsen hotel with comparatively large hotel room size among hotels in Japan, staff are really concerning about the clearliness. All staff are traditional polite Japanese with big smiles on their faces. It is recommended to have a try if you are heading to Kagoshima, but remember that an onsen tax fee is chargeable when you check-out.

First class experience, great location and value
Excellent experience in Japanese style inn located directly by top entertainment, restaurants and shopping, at very modest price. The hot spring onsens and rotemburo are delightful, and the en suite bathrooms are convenent. Young Mr. Nakagara speaks excellent English and is a consummate host. The rooms were well remodeled and first class. The experience was so positive for me that I will return to Kagoshima with my family partly just to stay at this delightful modern Japanese style hotel.

Great all round, excellent staff. One (I cannot remember his name sorry) was particularly helpful. The Breakfast may not be everybody's taste and it could have given wider choices. I have no complain on others... oh the onsen is a bit too hot for me but I am not an onsen expert!

Improved family run hotel
Took my mother who had an upset stomach on arrival. Provided small western style meals for her as she did not want to risk unfamiliar foods. Hotel could not have been more helpful. Hotel only just re-opened after a refit - bathrooms are smaller (typical modern capsule) but are little used - onsens are great and rotemburo is much better than before after a refit. Japanese food for myself and wife was great as always (this is our 3rd stay). Will be back when we are next in Kagoshima.

Great food, great onsen
Recently re-opened after a refit and rooms now much larger with smaller bathrooms - not a problem as the onsen is fabulous. I came with family and with an upset stomach. They fed me western style meals and did all they could to help me. A family run hotel that looks after families!

Japanese Tatami Mat Hotel Room
Hotel has both Western style and tatami mat rooms (sleep on floor on futon). There is a shower/small bathtub but the ONSEN downstairs is very nice and clean.

Nice hotel in Kagoshima
A good hotel; not fancy - modest, actually - but pleasant, with a nice onsen and a very nice, helpful staff. Very centrally located. I would be happy to stay there again.

酒店附近有很多餐廳，步行可以到達，到機場也很方便，步行10分鐘内有機場巴士站，日式早餐有4款選擇，我們住了3晚，每天早餐不會重覆，員工服務很好。

部屋も綺麗でゆっくりできました。 ただ、露天風呂が使えなかったのが残念でしたが、温泉はよかったです。 子供用朝ごはんが物足りなかったようでした。
