The facilities were great, and the igloo room and sauna were perfect. The Wi-Fi was also good. They even lent us cold weather gear for free. It was very small, but that’s what we expected. We were very fortunate to see the northern lights from the igloo. The serene surroundings made for a peaceful stay. A moose passed by my igloo several times during my stay and I was able to get some decent photos of the aurora borealis. In the winter you can take a short walk across the river and see the sites of Jakkasjärvi, which includes the world famous Ice Hotel. The staff were kind and extremely helpful. The igloo, lounge, and shared bathrooms were immaculate. The provided breakfast was minimal but sufficient. My partner and I spent 3 nights here, during New Year’s Eve, and we had an incredible time! The igloo is very warm (despite -22 outside) with heating, has a stove with essential utensils and even has a toilet. If you didn’t want to use the toilet, you can use the lounge toilets which are clean and have a shower. The igloo also has speakers with a great bass- perfect for New Year’s Eve celebrations. The highlight was nature’s fireworks on New Year’s Eve… the northern lights. We were very lucky because we know it’s not a guarantee. So if you’re lucky enough you might get to see them too! Tony made sure we were okay through out our stay, heating up the sauna and picking us up/ dropping us off at our next destination.
