Excellent Property
Communication with management was easy and we were greeted when we arrived and given a tour including how to work the gate to the property, appliances, AC units and everything in between. The photos online do not do this property justice, it is gorgeous! The large living area opens with sliding glass doors on two sides on the balcony with seating and dining area, pool and view of Jolly Harbor. We had access to a pizza oven and grill as well as a full kitchen. There are 2 large bedrooms upstairs, each with their own full bath and a 1/2 bath just off the living room. The basement also has 2 bedrooms with full bath in each. While it's an island and there are naturally bugs, we did not have any issue inside the home. The mosquitoes exist and we were cautioned by mgmt to avoid dusk and dawn outside, but really were not bothered. We rented our own van for transportation and used that to visit the grocery store at Jolly Harbor many times. Our favorite beaches close by were Darkwood and Ffryes but there are many to choose from! We did not feel beaches were within walking distance due to home on a steep hill, so know that going in. If you want to visit other parts of the island, the drive takes longer than what Google Maps says due to condition of roads. We did not have a problem getting around, it just takes some time. Overall I would absolutely recommend this property!

Beautiful house with great amenities
We loved our stay at Villa Fair Winds. The house had everything we needed, including a pasta maker and pizza oven (and we used both!). Felicia was wonderful to work with and very responsive. The pool and outdoor area were clean and comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again!

Wonderful Christmas Vacation
the pictures do not do this villa justice, the views are spectacular and villa was so quaint. The kitchen if fully stalked, the BBQ worked perfectly and was clean, we even tried the pizza oven! The grocery store is a 10 minute walk away but you'll need a ride back because the climb up the road to the villa is steep. I loved the location, Jolly Harbour has so much to offer, we explored other beaches and the beach in Jolly Harbour was definitely one of the best. I can't say enough about our host Felecia, she was outstanding, I travel often with AriBnB and VRBO, I would say Felecia was the best host I have ever had.

Excellent place and view
Great place and very clean. Pictures do not do it justice. We had a week stay and Felecia was very accommodating and helped us out with all our asks and questions. Easy check in and check out process. Would definitely stay here again!! Transportation to and from airport was provided which made our travel easy!

Beautiful Home in Jolly Harbour
The house has amazing views over Jolly Harbour and Beach. Fully equiped for those who like to cook with bran new BBQ. All amenites were excellent. Felicia and her team supported us timeline and efficiently during our 10 days. I would certainly recommend this house to anyone.

Concerns were unfounded
After seeing a couple less than stellar reviews I was a bit concerned about the property. However, our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa was clean and has fabulous views down to Jolly Harbour and beyond. There were enough towels and the pool was clean for the entire week. The outdoor grill has seen much better days but we didn't use it so not an issue. There's still construction underway on the villa down the hill but it didn't bother us. Mostly hammering sounds and the like that we could easily ignore. We didn't have a need to contact management after check-in so I can really speak to their responsiveness. I would suggest bringing shampoo, body wash, etc. because there was none in the villa although the listing says there is (we did bring these supplies so we didn't have concerns. There were six adults in our group and everyone gave the property 4 or 5 stars. Lot's to see and do on Antigua and we only scratched the surface. I'd go back tomorrow and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Amazing part of Antigua
Beautiful villa. View is spectacular. Walking distance to jolly harbour, bars, beaches. Great restaurants. Check out Miracles. Very steep hill though on your return. Looking forward to coming back. Our kids loved it. Very safe area for teenagers.

Pool was green when we arrived and had to be shocked with chemicals, the lawns and gardens unkept. Gas BBQ was beyond repair and inoperable. Pool deck and patio had not been cleaned or swept. Otherwise, location was great and overall we enjoyed our stay

Stay at Villa Fairwinds January 2023
Overall the property is beautiful and the location is close to Jolly Beach with wonderful views. I will note that you need to go outside and down some fairly steep steps to get to the lower bedrooms so if you have elderly guests, it is a bit difficult especially at night. I would also note that we had some issues with essentials like toilet paper and shampoo being provided, so you may want to bring your own. We were without water for one of the days due to a broken shower in the main bedroom. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

An OK villa next to huge building site!
Very upset to have not been informed about the huge villa construction on site next door! Woken at 7.15am daily by pneumatic drills & large noisy machinery digging! Couldn't hear each other speak over the noise! Counted 30 builders on site most days so no privacy at poolside! Ground floor accommodation smelt musty & was very cut off from upstairs part of house! Old inflatables littered around garden area! Sugar Ridge Hotel not currently open so unable to use pools, spa , restaurant as advertised! When we asked for compensation we had a very curse response...you can if you vacate immediately! I cant see the new villa will be complete any time soon so be warned!!

We did expect such review. You started to beg for compensation the day after you arrived threaten us for a bad review , this never happened to us, we always had serious clients so far and everybody was very happy with the accommodation and the services they have been offered. Fair Winds only received excellent reviews for the last several years. The ground floor features three very large French doors as large as the entire front walls. Nobody ever complained about small because there is none. Inflatables in the garden? You may have seen them in your dreams. Sugar Ridge hotel has been closed since covid came and you have been informed about that. The gym and the restaurant at the hotel were open as usual. In regards of the noise, yes there some villas on construction in Sugar Ridge. It has been this way since 10 years, there are always at least 2 villas on construction at any one time not counting an entire village that has been on building on the top of the hill since three years. Works start at 8 AM and end at 5 pm. Our maintenance staff came several times a day to take care of your needs and you were always on the beach. Did you hear construction noises from there? No Client at Sugar Ridge or any of the other nearby villas ever complained for construction noises. You just wanted to stay in a luxury villa paying peanuts. Nevertheless we offered you a full refund for the unused days in case you wished to choose for a different accommodation. An option that you decided not to accept. For this reason we have flagged you as undesirable guest to Vrbo. If you can not afford to pay for a luxury accommodation go to a motel. Vrbo doesn’t need clients like you.

Great location some small issues
We were 2 couples who have rented many other villas in the Caribbean. Stayed in March 2022. The good things about this villa are the location, the breath taking view, the privacy of the 2 master suites on the main level, the out door space for eating, the pizza oven. The kitchen in fairly well equipped for food preparation. The owner is very responsive and helpful if contacted directly. The not so good about this villa are small details but were very frustrating and should not have to be dealt with on vacation. In our opinion it all comes down to regular maintenance which we are assuming is the responsibility of the property manager. Communication there was spotty, short and not very helpful until the owner got involved, It took 2 days to get enough towels for 4 people There was an issue with the fridge on day one, leaking on the floor and freezing the groceries we purchased. By day 3 it actually stopped working. Again once the owner was involved the fridge was replaced in less than 24 hours , which seemed very impressive for such a small island. Once the fridge was replaced the reverse osmosis drinking water stopped working so had to buy bottled. The propane Barbeque was repainted, I am assuming to freshen it up..but all the paint was peeling off . We tried to use it but the smell of the paint used on it was overwhelming when it was lit. The television was missing a power supply and it took 2 days to get that. The blow dryer didn’t work. The kitchen has so many great appliances but has no toaster. Lots of plates and bowls and pans and random glassware but only 3 wine glasses? Power went out 3 times for about 30 min. Again I don’t mean to sound unreasonable about all of this. It is all small things but they were frustrating to deal with. We have never experienced anything like this in any of our previous rentals. One thing that would be very helpful is a notebook for the house that has all of the necessary information. The wifi information, garbage instructions, use of pizza oven, local contact information, suggested restaurants and activities, taxi info. We have never been to a property that didn’t have something like this. I want to end on a positive note. This is a lovely villa and is in an excellent location. Would we return? Yes..but…the small details need to be addressed. If you want top dollar for your rental you need to provide top level service and amenities and some of that is definitely lacking here.

The convenience of the beach and grocery store was great. Always forgetting something from the store. This is our sixth Villa that we rented in the Caribbean and the best one

Harbour Lights
This villa was magnificent .....properly described and it lived up to this listing in almost every way. A well planned home that was comfortable for our two couples. The view of the harbor both day and night was spectacular and enjoyed by us all. This home had everything one could want ......great kitchen....out side veranda and pool area ......beautiful and comfortable interior. Would recommend the property and give it a five star rating. In reading past write-ups.....easy to be confused with the references to a cat issue. We had daily visit by 3 cats and really did not know how to handle them.....feed them or chase them. Not of us allergic to cats....but both couples dog lovers. When we questioned our home liaison person.......she stated there are NO cats. Yet cat food was visible both inside and outside on the deck and they made daily visits to the property. I think this should be addressed properly on site. Sorry we did not get to meet owner.....sounds like an interesting person with nice family and even though none of us are sailors .....love to hear of some of his adventures. Very good restaurants in the Harbor and great people abound on this island ......hope to return sometime.

A Beautiful hill top villa
Fair Winds is a beautiful hill top villa within the Sugar Ridge resort, overlooking Jolly Harbour. The views are amazing. It is beautifully furnished with Eastern style furniture and wonderful pictures on the walls. It has an infinity pool, BBQ's and a Pizza oven. The kitchen is well equipped. The two bedrooms downstairs are reached by an external staircase. We had a wonderful time staying in this villa. The supermarket is 2 minutes away and there are beautiful beaches very nearby. It is the perfect location. The owner Gian responded very quickly to all our questions and was very efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this villa over the Christmas period.

Views are great!
We had a great time in Antigua! The views over the pool are amazing, and we enjoyed the pool every evening. So much seating, you can get comfortable anywhere! The house was very clean and well stocked. The only thing missing was maybe a pool floatie? We also loved the close proximity to the beaches, grocery store, restaurants and bars, and diving/snorkeling shops. You can definitely walk if you don’t mind the steep hill on the way back. The access to the resort gym was also a great bonus, we took full advantage: especially the free yoga classes!

A magic holiday in Sugar Ridge
What a welcoming and comfortable place! Unbelievable view over the magic colors of the Caribbean Sea, constant breeze and few mosquitos. This villa is truly amazing! The inside decorations are a mixture of Italian and Balinese styles, all of great character. The recessed kitchen is well-equipped and leaves space to a large living room with a 180 degrees view over the sea and the white beaches. The bedrooms are quite big and so are the bathrooms. Fair Winds is inside the Sugar Ridge complex, a very safe location with a security guard at the main gate 24/7. A lot of nice beaches are minutes away by car from the villa. Outside, within the property boundaries, there is a surrounding large tropical garden, the backyard really makes you feel being in a rain forest. Absolute privacy is assured. We did not rent a car for the entire period but we were able to get down at Jolly Harbour on foot to the supermarket, pharmacy, banks and restaurants. The road inside Sugar Ridge is quite steep but this Villa is not far from the gate so walking uphill was not a problem for us. We also appreciated that the Villa is self-sufficient in terms of water and electricity. We were told that there is a backup generator but it never kicked in during our stay.

Fantastic
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fair Winds. The villa is beautifully appointed and in a superb location with amazing views over Jolly Harbour. As a party of 4 couples the villa provided spacious and well thought out accommodation enhanced by the tasteful decor and fixtures / fittings. The photographs do not really do the villa justice , the view from the terrace is incredible and the property is completely private , it is not overlooked by anyone and enjoys an extended garden area full of fruit tress and tropical plants . As with all properties on the Sugar Ridge estate , the approach is via a steep access road however Fair Winds is the first property you come to so the access road is shorter than all others . We were fortunate to meet the owners during our stay who were very welcoming and accommodating . The villa manager was very friendly and efficient Should we return to Jolly Harbour we will not hesitate to stay again.

Perfect villa for a dream holiday
We definitely loved our stay at Villa Fair Winds. It is a new construction tastefully decorated where we felt immediately at home. The view is just stunning and the tropical gardens surrounding the villa offer maximum privacy. The place is very safe and a security guard is at the gate 24 hours a day. Supermarket, bank, car hire, pharmacy and restaurants are in within walking distance. All bedrooms have large ensuite shower rooms and efficent aircon, the kitchen is very well stocked and the outside barbecue area could serve a restaurant need. Antigua's best white beached are just minutes away by car: Turners, Darkwood, Valley Church, Jolly Beach, what a paradise on earth !

Villa Fair Winds is a beautiful, comfortable, clean and well-equipped residence which really exceeded our expectations. The rooms and pool are lovely, providing a relaxing atmosphere in which to rest and unwind. The views and sunsets from the veranda are spectacular. There were no surprises. Any question we had was handled efficiently by the friendly and helpful support staff. We had a very good time at Villa Fair Winds and would highly recommend it to friends anytime. Positives: spectacular view, spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, pleasant living room, very well equipped kitchen, good infinity pool, close by facilities of Jolly Harbour (i.e. shops, supermarket, restaurants, beaches, watersports). Very comfortable for group of 8, well stocked and well maintained and safe. Could improve towels and linens and mattresses but we had a great stay. Easy transport to and from airport. Kitchen well stocked and great grill and pizza oven. WiFi worked well. TV does not get cable but that was ok with us. Beautiful sunsets from the pool.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fair Winds in Antigua! Positives The views from the property are spectacular. Truly incredible. The house is comfortable and fairly new. Great layout to the house with 2 1/2 bedrooms below for the kids. One note is that you do have to walk OUTSIDE to get from downstairs bedrooms to upstairs bedrooms. The property is stunning with lovely gardens. Location in Sugar Hill was great, as we used the gym and pool and yoga classes frequently. Really nice to be so close to a grocery store as it takes quite a bit of time to drive from place to place in Antigua. Negatives If you have a cat allergy, this is not the home for you. The two stray cats live on the patio and sleep on top of the main dining room table, all of the chairs and patio furniture. There is cat hair everywhere. For a house at this price point, there should be plenty of napkins, paper towels, trash bags and toilet paper. We ran out of all of it within days. You do hear traffic from the busy roads when sitting outside. I suspect this is an issue staying on most of Jolly Harbor. The house is a 10+ minute walk to the beach along very busy streets with no shoulder so also should consider that.

Hello Mary Ann I am happy you have enjoyed your holiday in Antigua and feel sorry for the cat issue. After you left we, together with other villa owners have taken the few cats who were visiting the villa to the vet for sterilization and then gave them to adoption down at Jolly Harbour. Most of them were females so the remaining males in the area left as well. As a result, the entire Sugar Ridge villas area is free of cats, I have not seen one around our villa for over 2 weeks now.

PARADISE FOUND IN ANTIGUA
We have just returned from a one week stay at Villa Fair Winds in Antigua, a great place in a truly beautiful Caribbean spot. Villa Fair Winds is an excellent villa, well furnished, spacious, clean, with an extremely well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, fantastic infinity pool overlooking the harbour and an amazing view. The villa is surrounded by a thick vegetation, wonderful trees and flowers…. It’s just like bathing in colours! Supermarket, shops and restaurants are only within 5 minute walking distance. A vast choice of stunning white sandy beaches is also available in the vicinity. At the end of the holiday, one of our best so far, it was really hard to say good-bye. Amazing stay at Villa Fair Winds!
This villa was absolutely stunning. I already miss waking up to the beautiful view of Jolly Harbor and the surrounding area. We were two families traveling together for the first time with 4 adults and 4 kids (ages of 9 and 11) for a week in February. This villa fit all our needs. The large living and kitchen space and all 4 bedrooms having their own bathroom allowed us not to be cramped on top of each other. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessities and even more. We were greeted by the property manager that went over the property and there was even some starter items for us in the refrigerator like bottled water, bottle of wine, milk, and juice. The close proximity to the store allowed us to easily run out and get things in a pinch. The epicurean market had everything you need and we easily made breakfast, packed lunches for the day, and prepared dinner in the villa. We also explored some of the restaurants on the island and most of them are accessible by foot but just remember there is a steep hill up to the villa. The rental included transportation to and from the villa so we just rented a car for the time in between. We used Drive-a-matic car rental and they dropped/picked up the cars free of charge! They were wonderful. When the ladies dropped off the cars they gave us a map and went over all the places we should see during our stay. We ended up going to one or two different beaches per day. They are all unique but we especially loved **half moon bay** and valley church. We went driving all over the island and it was quite the adventure. Make sure not to miss Nelson's Dockyard and the famous Sunday night party at Shirley Heights. We ended up reserving a ride to the Sunday night festivities to Shirley Heights through the rental property company because of the limited parking, night driving, and we wanted to enjoy the famous rum punch. The owner of the the villa and property management company were very easy to work with and responded to all my emails with questions answered. I highly recommend this place during your stay in Antigua. Great views in a prime location!

Fantastic place to stay
This is a wonderful home, and an ideal base to enjoy Antigua. The view from the property is absolutely amazing, and the terrace is designed so it has sun all day but at least some shade for all but about 2 hours. It directly faces the wonderful Caribbean sunsets. The infinity pool is fantastic - big enough for two kids to have a lot of fun in. The house is very well equipped, with high end equipment and lovely art, and has a very open and airy feel. The kitchen and cooking facilities are excellent and comprehensive. The house is on two levels, with the two main ensuite bedrooms, living room and kitchen, terrace and pool etc all upstairs; the lower level has two smaller bedrooms and is accessible via outside paths. Location-wise, this is excellent. For our needs it was perfect - the house is in a gated complex, and is just a short walk (albeit on quite a steep hill) to an excellent supermarket and several nice restaurants, and a short drive to many attractive beaches. It has easy access to the organized tours from Jolly Harbour. The owner was very attentive and helpful, and even took the time to organize a local place for our daughter to practice for a piano recital! We were absolutely delighted with the whole experience. Very highly recommended.

Dream Vacation!
We wanted this vacation to be memorable and magical as it was the first time our joint families were meeting as my Soulmate and I have been together 20 months now and our adult children are spread across Canada. This villa certainly met that requirement! We spent countless hours around the infinity pool taking photos of the magical sunset and playing in the pool. Some of our gang rented a jeep and discovered the local environment and we took in a couple of memorable day excursions including a catamaran/snorkelling adventure plus a deep sea fishing trip following which we enjoyed the Mahi Mahi that was caught! The setup of this villa is a perfect layout for a large group as you have space to have quiet time away from the ones who want to chat. The only thing I would suggest(not a complaint at all) is to fix/enhance the water pressure in the kitchen. The dishwasher really does not properly clean so we ended up hand washing everything each time we tried the unit. We would also encourage replacing the coffee pot with one that is larger to accommodate 8 people. Glasses and cups to accommodate 8 would be great. These are minor things but over time they have likely been broken with various guests. I hope the island will consider recycling as I was sad to hear that does not happen. Antigua is so gorgeous, don't ruin it with unnecessary clutter. Our blended family loved this vacation and they unanimously agreed it was magical. Mission accomplished! Thank you!

Fair Winds is a wonderful home away from home! It's stunning as well as comfortable; the property is furnished just like a home. The views, proximity to town and staff made our stay wonderful. We stayed a week and we did not want to leave! The accommodations, staff and Gian the owner made sure our every need was met. We will definitely be back real soon!

Wonderful stay at Fair Winds
Thank you so much for letting us use your beautiful villa. The position was perfect, within easy walking distance of Jolly Harbour, where shops, restaurants and bars are. The villa is decorated in the most wonderful style of South East Asia, all very exotic. The beds were very comfy, and the bathrooms were all top quality. We loved the infinity pool, and even tried the pizza oven one time. We went to different beaches every day, all within 5 - 10 minutes drive away. We really had a wonderful holiday made perfect by staying in such a beautiful villa.
