Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Lovely oasis near CSIR. Warm and capable staff. Very comfortable and clean rooms.
Had an enjoyable one night stay at this hotel. Very clean, well-furnished and decorated. Didn’t have breakfast or use any of the other facilities so can’t comment on those.
I had an excellent experience at Casa Toscana. Very safe place, close to the CSIR (despite having picked Uber because I was not in the mood for walking in a suit in the African sun), close to Menlyn Park Shopping Mall (50 ZAR for an Uber). The service was impeccable, the room very well tidy, excellent sign of wi-fi, very tasty breakfast, anyway, all excellent! I was very pleased and impressed with the hospitality at Casa Toscana, as well as in the city of Pretoria. I'll be back, for sure!
The property has huge potential, However, there are a few things they need to take note of.
1) Breakfast was good, the staff serving were great! and the coffee was good too!
2) Someoen approached during breakfast asking if we will recommend the hotel to friends and stuff, how are we findign it. This is a bit awkward, as you are eating breakfast and who really complains on the spot like that?
3) the toilet seat wasnt made for the toilet itself, it wouldnt stay open and keeps falling, so when you are taking a s hit, the toilet seat cover literally rests on your back, Gross.
4) The toilet would not flush, and periodically have issues. Simple fix but not fixed.
5) During the night, people on the hall, guests or staff are loud, not sure who but the sound proofing of the door is bad
6) Up your game on breakfast I think. The food needs to improve a tad. Have a toaster to have guests freshly toasting bread. A 4 slice toaster is only a few hundred Rand!
7) laundry service was great!
8) Bed was comfy, Blankets were good
9) tap on the basin is placed stupidly, You actually have difficulty washing hands.
Thanks
