Watching the sun go down over the caldera was one of the highlights of our trip. "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. First, the views are STUNNING! The hotel was clean, well-kept, and had just what we needed while in Santorini. The room was spacious enough to spread out and the bed was comfortable. When we arrived, our hot tub was not working, but they were in the process of fixing it and it was repaired by the next day. In the meantime, they allowed us to use the smaller hot tub outside the neighboring room (which wasn't booked that night). Eddie was the main staff member we interacted with. He was very helpful and polite. He suggested great restaurants close to the hotel and helped us arrange reservations and transportation from/back to the airport. The hotel said they served breakfast each morning, but we didn't notice any activity there so we never ate at the property. The only thing to be mindful of is that there are SO MANY stairs! Just like most properties in Santorini, there are tons of stairs that you have to climb to reach different amenities and to leave the property. Just something to note if you have accessibility limitations. We loved the quieter location of this hotel. Imerovigli is the perfect blend of activity/restaurants/shopping but without the cruise ship crowds like Fira has. It is centrally located between Fira & Oia which can be accessed easily via pulic bus. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Afroessa and would recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel that is not in the hustle and bustle of Fira."

"Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Amber Light Villas. The location was convenient- just a short drive to downtown Fira - and I’d definitely recommend renting a car, as taxis can get expensive. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and gave us great recommendations based on what we wanted to do. One downside was the service at the bar/restaurant, which was quite slow. We actually ended up leaving and getting food elsewhere one time. This was disappointing since we were looking forward to the convenience of on-site dining and drinks. That said, the included breakfast buffet each morning was excellent and something we really appreciated. We stayed in one of the upgraded rooms with a private outdoor pool and indoor jacuzzi, which sounded amazing in theory. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool was freezing - even on warm days - and the jacuzzi was more like a "cool tub" rather than a hot one. Since we paid extra for these features, it was disappointing not to be able to fully enjoy them. The main pool at the hotel was also very cold, making it hard to use beyond just dipping your feet in. The wifi was also spotty in some areas, even just a few steps outside our room. Overall, we truly had a great stay and loved many aspects of the property, but a few details kept it from feeling like a full 5-star experience."
