"This was, by far, the BEST place we stayed in all of Iceland on our 30-day visit where we booked 7 different hotels. We basically had the most beautiful 2-bedroom house to ourselves and the cost was unbelievably cheap. We stayed only 2 nights and if I had to do it again, I would have skipped the ..."

"This guesthouse is spread out over many utilitarian-looking buildings on a pretty hillside. Our room (three beds) was nothing fancy but was very clean and worked well as we out all day exploring. We had a middle room in one of the long buildings and noted that the walls were thin, but most other ..."
"Absolutely perfect stay at Svartaborg. We stayed at house 1 with a hot tub and it was incredible. I mistakenly made the booking for 1 and emailed the owner for an extra bathrobe and slippers and they came right away with a whole bath and sheet set. The house is very stylish and we were very lucky ..."
"So happy we booked here. This was our night off from the camper van and they let us use the kitchen to cook our own dinner. Super friendly staff, Great location and a yummy breakfast. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!"
"This was such a fun place to stay. We took a dirt road through a valley to get to these cabins on a family farm. It was so nice to be removed from the main road and enjoy the beauty of the valley. Waking up there were sheep all around which just embodies Iceland. The owners were very friendly and ..."

"The hotel has a great location with a view over the harbor and parking in front. The staff was wonderful. We'd definitely stay here again."
"Unlike the rooms in all the other Fosshotels that we have stayed at during our road trip around Iceland, we were surprised to find out that the room given to us has very outdated décor and furniture.
Our room faced the entrance of the hotel. There were ample parking spaces for the guests. It seemed that this hotel is very popular with tour bus groups because it was crowded with guests when we arrived around dinner time.
Our bed was comfortable, and the room was well cleaned and heated. The shower was hot with good water pressure, and basic toiletries were provided for. Wifi was fast and free.
We slept very well at night, despite the fact that a lot of activities were going around at the entrance, and the black-out curtains worked great. We did not have any meals in the hotel, so, are not able to comment on that.
For the price that we had paid for the room, we are satisfied, and have no qualms at recommending this hotel to others. The selling point of the hotel has to be its central location – we could simply just walk down the street to the beautiful town centre of Husavik.
"At the outset, I would consider this a high-end hostel and not a "hotel". But that is not a negative (just may not be for everyone). Great communication from the management re: entry code/entry details etc in advance of our stay, and we requested 2 beds which they were great and accommodated. Great location (can walk to town). Clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, and clean common kitchen area for coffee/meals etc. B'fast is included and individual baskets are organized in the fridge for guests each morning with hard boiled eggs, meats etc, and bread and coffee is also available. Only two issues we encountered but neither would prevent us from staying again: (1) one morning there were no coffee mugs available and (2) our shower leaked a bit into the main area of the bathroom. Again, neither issue would prevent us from staying again in the future."

"Absolutely perfect stay at Svartaborg. We stayed at house 1 with a hot tub and it was incredible. I mistakenly made the booking for 1 and emailed the owner for an extra bathrobe and slippers and they came right away with a whole bath and sheet set. The house is very stylish and we were very lucky to be in the house during a northern lights display. The house has floor to ceiling windows and we could see the lights and stars very clearly. Everything works well and the house is fully stocked with everything you need. Definitely our best stay in Iceland! "
"This was such a fun place to stay. We took a dirt road through a valley to get to these cabins on a family farm. It was so nice to be removed from the main road and enjoy the beauty of the valley. Waking up there were sheep all around which just embodies Iceland. The owners were very friendly and the room has a kitchenette. Took us 30-40 min to get to Húsavík for breakfast so it was a pretty easy drive into that city."
