Although you will feel completely tucked away, the bustling historic city of Cambridge is only a 30-minute drive. The hosts were helpful even though the broadband system was down for a few days. The town itself has every facility especially the pubs with great food. The cottage is quirky and delightful. The Potting Shed offered everything we could need for a relaxing break in Cambridgeshire. On arrival we were greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome. The property is situated in stunning grounds adjacent to the river Great Ouse. Godmanchester is a charming village with several comfortable pubs and other amenities. Opposite the property is a convenience store for papers, groceries etc. I would recommend spending a day in Ely and visiting the stunning Cathedral. Also The Wimpole Estate, Anglesea Abbey and Wicken Fen, all National Trust.
