About this property
Unique Historical log cabin with private beach and 300 ft. of waterfrontage.
A big thank you to all of our five-star guests! We have two-person canoe, two one person kayaks, and two paddle boards for your use. Also, The Old Log Cabin has a smart TV, so that you can mirror streaming services from your smart phone. In addition, COMCAST WIFI and streaming, fast speed internet, great reception. You will step back in time when you stay at this preserved historic log house (circa 1790). The old log house is now equipped with a galley kitchen that has an electric stove, ref., sink, blender, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, and stacked washer/dryer. There is a dining area adjacent to the kitchen, as well as another on the lake front outside porch. The second room on the main floor is a living area with TV/DVD, futon, and hammock which is great for naps.
The second floor of the log home has a bath with pedestal sink, toilet, and bath tub. There are two bedrooms upstairs (one large bedroom with two twin beds and a queen bed; the second bedroom with a queen bed). Each bedroom has its own pedestal sink. But don't worry, this old log house now has central air conditioning and heat as well as a fireplace and wood stove downstairs!
This interesting and unique old log cabin is located on very private, wooded property and is geared to outdoor fun and living. In addition to the inside bathroom, there is an outdoor shower with hot/cold water. A covered outdoor cooking area with a 5 burner gas grill, under counter ref. and water is available for added convenience. If you prefer cooking out with charcoal or wood, there is also a lakeside fire pit and charcoal grill with water. The dock area is large, with a table, umbrella, slide, and rope swing. The beach is sandy and gently sloping which is great for small children. Also, two kayaks along with other lake toys are available for use. The fun won't stop when the sun goes down, because the dock, all cooking areas, and paths are well illuminated with outdoor lighting.
This property is located on a peninsula in a small community with a quiet private road that's great for family walks or jogging.

Our stay was amazing. Property owners were phenomenal. Explained everything about the property, nicely cleaned and spacious. Rustic old cabin and exactly what we were looking for. Looking forward to our next stay there.
We have stayed here now twice and will keep coming back! It is small but just perfect for the four of us and even our two dogs. The cabin is extremely clean and organized with all of the necessities you can think of. The decor makes it very cozy. Great sandy beach area to enter the water, awesome dock, and tons to do with all the lake essentials.
This charming lakeside cabin is the perfect place for either a long weekend or an extended vacation and has all the amenities you'll need. It's situated in a terrific location on a quiet cove in SML.
Beautiful and unique property, like going back in time. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver are gracious hosts. They make you welcome, then give you your peace and quiet.
We had a great time, it was our dogs first time to a lake and he loved it. We loved it too! Fantastic location, easy communication with the owner and everything we needed was there. We really, really enjoyed our stay. The grilling area is awesome and the outdoor shower is the best!
My family and I love coming to the cabin! We enjoy every single trip we make out there. David is always very kind and makes us feel welcome!! Hope to visit again😊
This cabin is beautiful inside and out. A very cozy feel. There is plenty of outdoor space and things to do. Well maintained. A must see to really appreciate this cabin. Had a wonderful time.
Step back in time 250 years in this historic and lovingly cared for example of a hand hewn log construction. Great care has been taken to add modern conveniences without detracting from the character of the building. Location is stellar and the large water frontage makes for a peaceful time.
Everything was perfect (as usual). We love staying at the old log cabin so much that we've been coming twice a year for 6 years! You can't go wrong with this place of you're looking for a peaceful getaway.
This beautiful historic cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway with friends. Modern amenities and a rustic feel. Amazing views. The outdoor areas are fun. A very unique place, would stay again! The host was very considerate and helpful.
David has thought of everything you need for a wonderful relaxing stay ! This is the 5th time staying at what we affectionately call the little cabin. You will love the outdoor kitchen area , the outdoor shower and of course the sitting area down by the water. Can’t wait for our next visit!
What an amazing stay. 1790s cabin restored in the 80s. Beautiful and still had all we needed for our trip to the lake. We visited historic Bedford during the day and spent our evenings in this beautiful historic cabin. Met the owner Dave and he gave us a full tour and history. He also gave us some great suggestions for places to eat and places to get great views of the area.
If you have never stayed in a real authentic log cabin, with just enough of today’s amenities, you might enjoy this. Great property and lake front, and a really neat vibe. We will definitely be back.
