Everything is mediocre or less

All in all, a bit disappointing.
We booked at a great rate of 103USD so it made us decide to split our vacation into two halfs (half in Marriott and half here).
The location is great if you are interested to be in the heart of the tourist area (shops, rests, massage parlors).
The hotel is out of date and so are the rooms. The AC in the common areas (especially the elevators) is not adequate.
We got our room ahead of time but had a few issues - mattress was hard and not comfortable and the safe deposit box was locked so had to call for guest services. They said 5 min, But it took them 25 min to come. I've given up and went out for a stroll. The shower also didn't have hot water until asked for a fix.
As an apology for the inconvenience we received a 2 coffee+sandwich coupon which is a nice gesture I guess.
Coming from the really astonishing Marriott to the Hilton felt like going back in time. The pool is A regular one and the floor around it is not suitable for a swimming pool (hurts like walking on gravel). There aren't enough staff around the pool and those who are present are less than the normal service you are used to in Thailand.
Bottom line - if rate was is the same I would probably go for a resort even if is a few km out of the ״center".
