I was in room 2 on top floor (there is no lift in this premises). Room was pleasant, but needed some love and attention in parts. Bed was okay, could have done with some more milk satchets in room. This venue was advertised with free on site parking. There is NONE. Honestly, practically every wall had something pinned to it. It gave the place an unwelcoming, institutional feel - as though you were having orders barked at you from every surface. If they could take those signs down, the place would feel much more welcoming. It was very clean but could benefit from being updated. The toilet/shower room was tiny and the sink was actually in the bedroom. We didn't find it a problem as we were only staying for 2 nights. Parking is available in the multi storey car park opposite the Town Hall. £7 for 24 hours and a five minute walk away. The guest house is very clean and tidy. I met Frank, the owner/manager, briefly and was very friendly and helpful. My room (Goldstone) was perfectly adequate for my one night stay, with a comfortable bed and an en suite bathroom that was rather compact, but was big enough to have a (short) bath.
