Great place downtown

Posted 03-Feb-2016
Our room was very roomy with big bright Windows which were nice with our partial construction view. Rooftop view is gorgeous day or night! Bed was very comfortable. Bath toiletries were really great, especially body soap. Breakfast was delicious although not much variety. Complimentary drinks and cookies were definitely a plus. Overall great place to stay.

Return to Houston

Posted 21-Jan-2016
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, and so were the hotel amenities.
Cons: We had a disabled room. The room itself was excellent, but the bathroom could have been more accessible.
Location: The Metro trains were very close, with access to other parts of Houston, and there are many restaurants, and theatres, etc. nearby.
This is the second time we have visited downtown Houston, and returned to the Magnolia hotel. We had more time to explore Houston, and this was an excellent base for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

It is a great hotel with exemplary service.

Posted 20-Jan-2016
Pros: Free wine. Free cookies, complimentary shuttle, breakfast was good. Room was nice and large as well as super clean. Atmosphere. Superb. They care.
Cons: More dining and bar room. It got a little crowded even on a Sunday night. Monday a m was busy.
Location: Historic church, Minute Maid Park, Historic area. Rooftop view of Houston that is not available just anywhere, Not far from Museum district. Awesome.
A historic church across the street. It has a chapel with cool stained glass windows. It was our anniversary and the hotel went above and beyond to make it special. Beautiful flowers in our room were an exquisite touch. The complimentary wine was nice. the cookies before bed were scrumptious. If I decide to stay downtown Houston again I will go back. The staff was so cordial and friendly. My appreciation to all of them.

Could not recommend this hotel

Posted 17-Jan-2016
Pros: The king size bed was comfortable but that is all I could say of a positive nature.
Cons: Not designed to appreciate and cater to guests . Nothing guest orientated at all.
Location: Required taxi to go everywhere . Not appropriate for someone on holiday.
Perhaps I am being too harsh but if I compare this with say the Hilton or other brand names I stayed with in Texas and Florida I would have to say staff not really friendly; it was more like a B and B.

house of blues concert

Posted 15-Jan-2016
Very nice hotel. Took the shuttle to the house of blues. Walked back after the show, because the shuttle stops at 11:00pm. Not a bad walk. It was cold out but didn't take long. Hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly.

Our group had a wonderful stay. The staff were all very friendly. The complimentary shuttle service was another plus. The breakfast every morning was great too. The Magnolia is a very good place to stay.

New Years experience

Nice hotel, but they should notify guests when booking if they're going to close the entire Resturant and bar for a private party. Also $33 A night to park is outrageous and should be free when your staying at the hotel.
