More Bang for your Buck

Pros: Everything was excellent.
You cant beat the price. Super centered downtown location, where everything is within walking distance. Friendly and knowledgeable staff will guide you to anywhere you need. Great room and bathroom size (closet space is kinda small).

Beautiful old hotel

Posted 17-Sep-2016
My husband and I stayed here to see a couple Cubs-Astros games at Minutemaid Ballpark. The hotel was beautiful, nicely remodeled in a modern style and within easy walking distance of restaurants and the ballpark. The only issue we had was the TINY bed. It was a full, not even a queen and the room was spacious enough to easily fit a king size bed.

NOT A 4 STAR!!! Don't recommend it

Posted 16-Sep-2016
Pros: The pillows, and the vallet guys were great and had good senses of humor. They all seemed to be funny.
Cons: Almost everything
Location: Don't walk out at night, i learned a stabbing had just occurred the night before our stay.
First of all, I am NOT picky. So for me to notice this, well, it was bad. MY ROOM: No towels (when we requested some, they didn't do anything but leave them on the floor outside our door. We only found them because i got tired of waiting and opened the door to get them myself), one remote for two televisions (the living room area and the bedroom), pubes on the wash cloths (GROSS!), no coffee for the coffee machine, three pillows for a 4 person stay, only one extra blanket (Had to request more), only trash can in the whole place was the tiny one in the restroom, the shampoos AND bars of soap didn't smell nice, You can hear the train passing by ALL night, it was loud and we were on the 14th floor. i will say that the pillows were GREAT! I want some for my home. The Staff: Upon arrival, some guy named Paul was there, and he was rude. I showed up around midnight with my tired wife and kids and he said, "Let me see if we even have any room for yall". I was like........... One morning i walked down with my wife and two little kids and requested a good breakfast place for my family. He insisted we go to the honeymoon cafe, we walked approximately 6 city blocks, seemed longer, just to learn its not the "Family, i hop or dennys style" breakfast place we were looking for. They sold expensive coffee and pastries, very similar to starbucks but much nicer. I'm 35, that was the worse recommendation in my life, not kidding. Do not stay here!

Location and Price

Posted 13-Sep-2016
If I speak about the Hotel itself, it won't have the appreciation for the Hotels location and/or price relative to its location. But..... Honestly the hotel itself has an aged feel.Hallways, carpet, aged, no ice machine. The room I slept in however, Had everything I needed and the IHome clock was a nice surprise. I'm not sure they can add any more amenities with out the price per night going up. With that said.... Everything the hotel didn't have was made up by downtown Houston and being basically the heart of it. You can walk, if able, to everything but NRG Stadium, and if it's the weekend the Metro Rail a street up can take you there for free. In the end, for what I paid(great deal on Expedia); I think the price without sale is still good compared to the rest in the area.....I would without a doubt stay here again if I had something to attend in Downtown Houston, especially on a weekend with the free Metro Rail if the NRG was on the docket. Extra: I didn't visit the Restaurant/Bar downstairs so I can't show them any love. I do not like the "incidental fee" hold but hopefully I won't have any problems with it coming off the card. Bottom Line: This is not a hotel for 5 Star Double Tree or Marriott people. This is for Save the Bank, Good Sleep, Great Location, Decent Amenities people. I Highly recommend this hotel.....for those people previously mentioned.
