Seemed to be a motion sensor light that had broken or gone faulty. I complained and someone came to look at it but it didn't get fixed. Hope it was just something wrong with my room and not all!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Hồng Phong?
The best area to stay in Hồng Phong is Hạ Long City, particularly around Bãi Cháy or Tuần Châu Island, as these are the main tourist hubs for exploring Hạ Long Bay.

Bãi Cháy is the more developed area, located on the mainland. It boasts a long sandy beach, a promenade, and a wide array of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment options. You'll find the Sun World Hạ Long Complex here, offering various attractions. The main road, Hạ Long Street, runs parallel to the coastline, making it easy to navigate. This area is ideal for families due to the concentration of activities and amenities.

Tuần Châu Island is another excellent choice, connected to the mainland by a bridge. It's known for its artificial beach, the Tuần Châu Park with its water puppet theatre, and boat tours departing directly from its marina. Tuần Châu offers a slightly more secluded feel than Bãi Cháy while still providing plenty of facilities.
When is the best time to go to Hồng Phong?
The best time to visit Hồng Phong is during the dry season, which runs from October to April, for pleasant weather and clear skies.

During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, with less humidity and minimal rainfall. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, such as taking boat trips around the limestone karsts or enjoying walks along the coastline.

For those who prefer slightly cooler weather and fewer crowds, the period from October to December is particularly appealing. The air is crisp, and visibility is often at its best, providing excellent conditions for photography and outdoor activities.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Hồng Phong.
How much is the nightly rate at a Hồng Phong hotel?
Prices for hotels in Hồng Phong often vary, but you can find a great deal from £6 on Expedia. All sorts of factors affect price, such as the time of year or the days of the week you choose for your stay. Find the best deals by being flexible with your dates, and sort search results by "Price: low to high" for the cheapest rate.
