Overlooking scenic Kowloon Bay and dwarfed by Hong Kong’s towering skyscrapers, North Point is a historic neighbourhood that mixes tradition with modernity. From this southern spot on the harbour, admire the area’s stunning skyline and spot the mountains forming a natural backdrop. For a sense of traditional Hong Kong, head to the Chun Yeung Street Market in the centre of the district. Stroll beside the tramlines and peruse the stalls selling everything from fruit and fashion to seafood and souvenirs. The tram runs daily from early morning until late afternoon. Explore the adjacent Wah Fung Chinese Goods Centre, an enormous department store whose building was once used as a refuge by dissident communists in the 1960s.
