"Cleaner room and better bed"

"Upgraded to a lovely comfortable room with a great bathroom , everything very clean and tidy, staff lovely the hotel bar has lots of choice and is very popular. The included breakfast had a wide choice and the plates were substantial very good, although the lone chap in the morning was working his socks off as breakfast was very busy due to groups staying for cup final! This meant coffee and tea etc wasn't getting filled up that quickly but this is my only criticism. We come to GX to meet friends a few times a year and the Ethorpe is our hotel of choice."

"Front desk not very helpful. Manager excellent. Pillows are awful. Like sack of potatoes and very , very noisy from other rooms. Good breakfast and apparently excellent spa."

"This hotel has so much potential because at first glance it’s absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, a few things really let it down during our stay. The pool area was quite grubby, with broken tiles in the hot tub and the pool itself looking dirty. When I mentioned it to staff, I was told they didn’t currently have anyone to clean the pool, which honestly showed as it looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. Our room itself was lovely and nicely presented, but we were disappointed by the shower and bath only having lukewarm water. Other guests in our party also experienced the same issue and complained about it too. The bar area is really nice and decorated tastefully, which adds to the overall charm of the hotel. However, the ground floor toilets were also dirty, and across the two days we stayed I didn’t see any cleaners around at all. It’s a shame because the hotel could be amazing with better upkeep and attention to cleanliness and maintenance"

"We have stayed at Rioshouse George-Inn a few times, and it never fails to impress. The staff always respond rapidly to any request, and it is always clean. We love the location, Chalfont St. Peter is a lovely village, and the locals are very friendly."
