Each bedroom features new king beds, ensuites, and new smart TVs. The opening concept living, kitchen, dining area has brand new furniture, a 55-inch smart TV and a Bluetooth soundbar. There are plenty of extra throws and pillows to enjoy quiet mornings on the private screened-in porch or evening cocktails by the wood burning fireplace. This home also has an extra large lighted carport in case you need to take cover when returning from your daily explorations. Located just a short drive from Glen Falls trails and approximately 5 minutes from Main Street, this is the perfect home for both a quiet mountain escape and easy access to the lovely town of Highlands. The best part is that Lark Lodge(formerly Camp Carlee), Peek-a-boo Paradise, Glen Falls Cottage and Backwoods Bungalow are all properties managed by us on the same street, so they provide the perfect accommodations for larger groups that like to have their own space as well. \*This is an animal friendly property. Pets must be approved and a pet fee is required.\* \[All of the homes managed by Highlands Vacation Rentals have wifi internet access(speeds may vary based on different providers), basic kitchenware & dishes, linens provided, and a starter set of amenities including: 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom + A set of personal shampoo, conditioner, hand & body soap (also per bathroom), 2 paper towel rolls, a few kitchen trash bags, a kitchen sponge, some dish soap and a couple of dishwasher and laundry detergent pods. \] CANCELLATION POLICY: Our cancellation policy (effective for bookings confirmed after April 1, 2024) is outlined below: For reservations that are 21 days or less, A reservation cancelled ( by email receipt ) between 0 - 45 days prior to arrival is not eligible for a refund. This property did not disappoint!!! Clean and cozy. Very homey. Enjoyed our time here. Small but perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the screened porch. Beds very comfortable. Well stocked with everything you need. An added benefit was the whole house generator!! Lost power due to storms. We never thought about this u til the lights etc kicked in!! Location was great. TV remote in coffee table didn't work (no sound and channel control), so we used the one from bedroom. We did enjoy our week watching HULU movies in front of the fireplace... but, The fireplace was lacking: the "fat sticks" provided would not light a log the first evening. The solution was to buy inexpensive "Duralogs" that stayed lit for four hours! After about a 30-minute burn, adding the provided wood gave us a great fire for the evening. The owners should be made aware of this issue and pass it on to future guests. Another annoyance was the fireplace "tools": they may look cute but were totally broken and unusable. Please compare to a real set as we had difficulty maneuvering logs in the fire, and this is dangerous. The upstairs bathtub was not clean and was not used. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed our home cooking. The outdoor grill was full of spider webs and not used. If it were clean, we certainly would have used it. The instructions for using the bear-proof trash can were faded and unreadable. Had to "Google" how to open and close it securely. In the end, what Peek-a-Boo lacked was a guest "user guide" which would have mitigated all our negative issues. We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years and the guide is the first item we look for. Hope this was helpful and further hope to return. ##### Philip M. We are Floridians who were seeking refuge from hurricane Ian and were so fortunate to have been able to pass the time in this sanctuary....a true home away from home. Peek a Boo left no stone unturned and came fully equipped with everything...so modern and yet still keeping the Highlands quaintness. It is situated close to main street but felt like miles away from everything...so quiet, so clean and so restful. We would spend each evening sipping wine on the screened porch listening to a hoot owl deep in the woods.
