It is located in Shelby Place Subdivision, about one mile to the Main Street where numerous restaurants and stores are located. If you enjoy walking, it takes only 10 min from our subdivision (and 20 min from our house) to get to Bryson's Plaza. This fully equipped house sleeps six people, and it can be perfect getaway for a family or several friends. The vaulted ceiling living room area is spacious and has large wood burning fireplace. The living room equipped with flat screen TV, DVD player, and stereo system. Kitchen is equipped with new stainless still appliances and has everything you might need for gourmet or simple cooking. The dining room is suitable for six people with two additional bar seats. Master bedroom has King bed, private bathroom and walk-in closet. The second bedroom has luxurious Queen size bed and sleeps two people. The neighborhood is nice and upscale. This was our first time to visit the Highlands area and we were nit sure what to expect. The propert was very easy to locate and use as our base, being located close to town. The house provided plenty of space to stretch and for the baby (>8 mos) to play. Bryson' s Foods is very close if you need groceries of any kind. ##### Lee c. We rented this house because our original rental canceled due to maintenance issues. I’m so glad we chose this house ! It was perfect for 5 adults . Very comfortable, very well stocked, beds comfy , firewood provided. Can’t say enough good things . Loved the restaurant suggestions. Everywhere we ate was excellent. We shopped, took a yoga class , hiked , got massages from Elevation Spa ( highly recommend! ) ate at great restaurants, sat by a roaring fire each night and found out we will be grandparents in September so Highlands will always be special to us . The fireplace stank to high heavens, was worse when bathroom exhaust was on, made sure the flu was closed, our noses and throats burned. This house was wonderful. I was so excited to find an affordable 3/2 so close to Highlands, and I was beyond excited when we entered the house and saw how great it was. The house is roomy, clean, nicely decorated, and amply furnished with everything we needed, including a fully stocked kitchen (and it smelled good!) The welcome gift of local honey was the perfect addition to our tea and fruit. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable and there were lots of towels. The house was only 4 minutes from everywhere we went, and I did a 3 mile beautiful snowy hilly run in the neighborhood and nearby streets without having to go on the main road. Anna was gracious and responsive, and the "check out duties" were super quick and easy. We were here in February and I would love to see it in another season. The backyard deck overlooking the woods is beautiful. I would definitely stay here again if we return to this area. ##### Melanie B. My oldest sister has Stage 4 stomach cancer that has metastasized to her liver, lungs, spleen, and lymph nodes. I booked this vacation rental for my four sisters, daughter, and two nieces the day we learned that the first round of chemo had been basically ineffective — so just a little more than a week before our booking. Directions to the property and entrance could not have been easier to follow, and a notebook with the Wi-Fi password, instructions for operating the television, location of fire extinguishers, lots of suggestions of local restaurants and activities, and check-out instructions was provided. The place is beautiful and beautifully decorated, and could not have been more perfect for our stay. We enjoyed meals and spending time together playing games and talking inside at the dining table just off the very gracious and comfortable family room and at the dining table between the kitchen and the family room as well as on the on the back deck. The kitchen and bathrooms were all spotless and very graciously appointed. We had everything we needed and more! We enjoyed watching movies and putting a puzzle together in the family room, and we enjoyed some one-on-one time with each other rocking on the front porch. Though the weather was gorgeous and there are lots of nice restaurants and shops and fun things to do nearby, we stayed in mostly, because my sister was very weak and unable to walk very far.
