Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Very disappointing. The house was dark, damp and smelled of mildew. The kitchen was not well-equipped (no toaster, no paper towels or kitchen towels, few cooking supplies), bed linens were soiled. We wanted to open the windows to air out the musty smell but only a few had screens, some of which were torn and the windowsills very dirty and filled with dead bugs. In the large bedroom, there is a door to the outside that is mostly glass but there was no curtain so anyone walking by could look in. Had to put a blanket over the window. Stains on several of the living room chairs. Lamps in all the rooms had low wattage bulbs and several of them were either burned out or missing. I had to purchase light bulbs to be able to read in the bedroom. We were there for three days and the wi-fi was down the entire time - we had to drive into Highlands to get service. This property is on the grounds of a retreat center, which is not indicated on the rental site. I was made aware of this only after I had made my deposit.
