Room bright and spacious
Restaurant/bar snug and cosy
Staff & Owner very friendly and helpful
Location central to everything, shops, pubs, restaurants, transport links and walking trails.
Reception staff very welcoming and friendly. Accommodation comfortable and everything in the room worked properly. Car park was fairly full but space was available when arrived. Cooked breakfast was good, served hot and good value for money. Teas and coffees are at extra cost but overall still very competitively priced compared with chain hotels. A very enjoyable stay.
The hotel was in the centre perfect location room was small but had everything you need staff were very friendly and helpful we requested a breakfast sandwich and staff fetched it to our room
Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were good and all amenities you would expect.
We stopped overnight on a hike and was a great place to stay, good selection of beers. Breakfast was good and very well priced. Would certainly stay here again.
The room was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay .
The new staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us .
We look forward to returning in the future

This wee pub / hotel was great clean tidy good food, staff was helpful and friendly, rooms was good too, would I stay again yes, great value for money,
Staff nice but properly in need of refurbishment. Old worn carpets in bedroom and hall way and no wardrobe only hangers above bedside table. Lots of dust on chair and skirting board behind bedside table.
Breakfast did not include coffee and there was no choice of water, juice or cereals.
The hotel is very well located for some beautiful walks around Hayfield and is only 2 minutes away from the best Italian restaurant which we ate at for our 2 night stay.
Stayed for a couple of nights, staff were very frendly and helpful.
Rooms were simple but good enough for a place to sleep. Exceptional area for the price.
The location of the hotel is perfect and the staff amazing. Food is also delicious. The only downside with the room, is that there were no curtains only blinds, so as soon as the sun comes up sleeping becomes difficult. Fine for anyone who's an early riser but not for those who like a lay in. Also the shower is electric with very poor flow rate. Would stay again if these issues were resolved
The ladies who are running the hotel/pub so lovely - nothing is too much trouble - only been there 5 mths and they have their work cut out with the property and building it up again as a pub - all staff lovely , dog friendly - great location
