About this property

The House of Authors, Apt. 09 Alfred Döblin

  • Plenty of wood, natural materials, warm earthy tones—Apartment No. 9 on the ground floor of the Ahlbeck Writers’ House welcomes Baltic Sea lovers with its rustic, cosy, maritime charm. From the natural wallpaper to the rustic yet stylish furniture and accessories—everything in this holiday home is designed to complement the beautiful Baltic Sea landscape. The love is evident in the many small details. Let yourself unwind and enjoy the relaxing feeling of abundant light and airiness. The high ceilings of the old seaside villa allow you to breathe deeply and provide plenty of space for a sense of freedom. Named after the German writer Alfred Döblin, this Baltic Sea paradise would certainly have provided the renowned essayist with plenty of inspiration for new works during a break by the sea. In this apartment, old and new come together in a wonderful way. The three rooms can accommodate four adults and one toddler. Upon request, a travel cot (without an additional mattress [&] bedding) and a high chair (for an extra charge) can be provided for our little guests. It’s especially cosy to gather together in the living room in front of the wood-burning stove. A large flat-screen TV provides entertainment. The kitchen is open-concept. Fully equipped, it’s even suitable for culinary masterpieces. It comes with all appliances and dishes. You can enjoy your meals in the bay window, which also opens onto the living room. Flooded with light thanks to tall windows on three sides, this is the perfect place to start your holiday in the morning. From here, you’ll have an unobstructed view of the sea. And since it faces east, the sun shines right onto the breakfast table. Open the bay window wide and let the sound of the Baltic Sea wash into your apartment. In Room 9, you’ll sleep on heavenly comfortable box-spring double beds (1.80 m x 2.00 m). Each of the two bedrooms is also equipped with a closet and a flat-screen TV. The bathroom is spacious, and the beautiful rain shower is a particular highlight. The bathroom also features a sink and a toilet. The apartment offers free Wi-Fi. Upon arrival, your beds will be made and towels will be provided. If you’d like to do laundry, a washing machine and dryer are available in the building’s basement. You can use these for a fee. A dedicated parking space for your car is available in the building’s underground garage. Especially convenient: For guests with electric cars, a shared charging station is available in the underground garage (shared by four residential units). Payment is conveniently made via a charging card from a well-known provider or by credit card.

The Autorenhaus, a villa with a literary past. After two years of renovation, this beautiful villa first welcomed guests in 2009 to spend their holidays here. Formerly known as Wilhemshöh, this house was already one of the first guesthouses in the area at the turn of the century. With its luxurious elegance in the style of classic seaside resort architecture, its prime location, and its extremely comfortably furnished apartments, it will live up to this reputation and once again become one of the most prestigious properties in the imperial spa town. Located just about 50 metres from the white sandy beach and only about 250 metres from the historic pier—the landmark of Ahlbeck—the Autorenhaus enjoys a very quiet yet central location. Each holiday apartment has a designated parking space. A washing machine and dryer are available in the building’s basement for a fee.
