Find hotels in Heraki from £50

The best area to stay in Heraki is within the village centre itself, particularly around the main square.

This small, peaceful village offers a truly quiet and authentic Istrian experience. The centre of Heraki is characterised by traditional stone houses, many converted into beautiful villas and guesthouses. You'll find a local church and a few small, family-run eateries, providing a genuine taste of Croatian hospitality. The surrounding area is primarily agricultural, with vineyards and olive groves stretching into the distance.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will find Heraki ideal. The village's quiet setting, combined with the opportunity to enjoy leisurely walks through the countryside or relax by a private pool, creates a superb backdrop for a peaceful holiday. Many villas offer private amenities like swimming pools and outdoor dining areas, superb for enjoying the warm evenings.

Families seeking a relaxing holiday with plenty of space will also appreciate Heraki. The larger villas often come with spacious gardens and amenities like outdoor play areas, allowing children to play freely.

The best time to go to Heraki is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, or September, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During these months, you'll experience warm, sunny days great for exploring the Istrian countryside or relaxing by the coast, but without the peak summer heat and larger crowds of July and August. The sea is also warm enough for swimming from late May onwards.

For couples looking for a romantic and relaxed getaway, these shoulder months offer a more intimate experience. You can enjoy vineyard tours, explore historic towns like Rovinj or Poreč, and dine al fresco without competing for reservations. The weather is ideal for cycling or walking through olive groves.

Families travelling with younger children might also find these times more suitable. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and popular attractions are less busy, making visits more enjoyable and stress-free. There are still plenty of activities available, from exploring beaches to visiting local farms.
