Shore House is situated 250 yards from Kilcreggan Pier, the last remaining original Victorian pier on the Rosneath Peninsula. Over 100 years old, today the pier operates with a foot passenger ferry only. The house sits peacefully in its own grounds and offers stunning views out onto the Clyde. If you enjoy outdoor activities, then you are spoilt for choice with walking, cycling, golf, fishing and water sports all available nearby, alongside the West Highland Way which passes nearby. Enjoy a cruise on Loch Lomond seeing the breath-taking scenery from the water and discover the islands for stately homes on the shore. For a day out for all the family, Loch Lomond’s shore is well worth a visit with designer shopping, great places to eat, outdoor activities, the Sea Life Aquarium and regular events throughout the year.
Head towards Dunoon and explore the beauty of Cowal and the surrounding area known as ’Argyll’s Secret Coast’, with its sparkling sea lochs, romantic ruins, ancient forests and stunning scenery. A number of public gardens are located in the area, such as Ardkinglas, Crarae and Benmore Botanic Gardens with its avenue of giant redwood trees.
For those a bit more adventurous, the ferry at Colintraive to Rhubodach takes only three minutes to cross the sea loch and arrive on the Isle of Bute. This has been a famous tourist destination over the years with many attractions such as Mount Stuart House and Gardens, as well as the Victorian seaside resort of Rothesay. Loch Fyne with its famous restaurant and oyster bar is not far away, as is Inveraray; both great for a day trip.
