★ Yonah Mountain Retreat ★ Hot Tub & Video Games
Family-friendly vacation home with mountain view and spa tub!
Enjoy your stay at THE HILLTOP HIDEOUT IIII, a 4 bed, 3 bath chalet, which is located directly above the famous Georgia Mountain Coaster inside of Helen, GA. This cozy chalet is the perfect destination spot for family or friends looking for an Alpine Adventure in a Bavarian Themed Town in Appalachia OR if you are looking for a "flexcation!" Appreciate the beautiful hilltop view on one of the large patios while indulging in nature and your favorite beverage. Take advantage of the multiple attractions, state parks, wineries, breweries, food, fishing, tubing, and family friendly activities. Don't forget to visit a few favorites: Unicoi State Park, Anna Ruby Falls, Dukes Creek Falls, Yonah Mountain, Cool River Tubing, Helen Waterpark, Alpine Mini Golf, Dukes Creek Mines, Woody's Mountain Bikes, Alpine Fun Factory, Hardman Farm State Historic Sight, Charlemagne's Kingdom, and more!
Do you need more space? Check out all 5 neighboring chalets! Rent 1, 2 or 5 for your family reunion, a church, civic, or business retreat, or just to spread out!
Note, we named these Hilltop Hideout because they are located at the top of a hill. Walking to town is an option (my kids always choose it), but it is steep. Plan accordingly.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer coffee and hair dryers. Rooms open to balconies or patios. Accommodations are furnished with dining tables and kitchen islands. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils. Bathrooms include bathtubs. Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access. Wonderful property and host, very accommodating throughout the stay. Property is beautiful and is a great spot to just relax after hiking or exploring the town. Would absolutely stay here again when I come back to Helen.
It was very very nice.My family & I enjoyed it so much.We had game night, we cookedWe ate, we enjoyed the talksAnd the laughter...We always love being in Helen.Thank you so
Great location, plenty of room, close to town…this spot is a dream! We sat on the main level back porch to watch the football game, very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook complete meals. Looking forward to staying here again!
We really liked the house for our group of 8 women. The outdoor spaces and the hot tub were great. We loved having so many beds, everyone was comfortable. A couple of us braved the hill but the host's description was right it is steep. We enjoyed Helen, I would suggest a quick stop at the museum.
Home appears to be recently built on a road just off the Main Street of Helen. We enjoyed spending the days exploring Helen, and the evenings back at the house! Would return again. Parking was very tight though (very small driveway/parking pad)
We loved our stay! The house was perfect in every way starting with the location. It was a couple of minutes to the center of town but private and off of the beaten path all at the same time. Several spaces in the home for all of us to gather and to separate. We will definitely look to rebook if in Helen again!
The house was just as fantastic as advertised. Very roomy, clean and full of entertainment options. The scenery was amazing and the neighborhood was a great little hideaway. Short walk into town. We got snowed in but that didn’t effect our stay on bit. Karen was a great host. Looking forward to staying at another one of her properties in the future!
We had such a wonderful vacation. We were 22 people in 2 houses. The houses were amazing and a phenomenal location to the city. We actually walked up and down the hill when we didn’t want to drive. They were clean and the rooms were spacious! The owners are awesome and responded whenever we needed anything! I would definitely stay there again!
Wonderful clean accommodations ! We had plenty of room for everyone. The game room was extra fun and brought back memories to the older adults. My grandchildren learned to play pool, cards and electronic games. Highly recommend to anyone. We were close to everything in town
Great house. Very close to Main Street where all the shops and restaurants are located. Clean and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. There were only 5 of us but the house can sleep 14. We were able to cook Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen with no problems.
We had a great trip. I recommend this home if you are coming to Helen, GA
We highly recommend the Chalet in Helen GA. The house was beautiful, extremely clean, roomy and a great getaway in the mountains. Loved the screened in porch area. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and did not feel like we were on top of each other. Bedrooms were large and beds were comfortable. It’s located just up the hill from Main St. You can walk to Main St and spend the day shopping and exploring Helen. Owners were easy to communicate with before and after our stay. Highly recommend this home.
This property was as advertised and in a great location. It was well maintained and nicely decorated. We had plenty of room for the entire extended family and the game room was a big hit. The only downside to the property is the layout of the bathrooms. Upstairs there were 2 bedrooms with sleeping accommodations for 8 people but only one bathroom. The main level has a full bathroom others could use as well and there was a full bathroom in the basement but you had to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. Overall it is a great property that I would recommend for a large group.
The house was beautiful and CLEAN!! There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room for everyone. The beds were very comfortable, we loved the deck with the hot tub, and the screened porch off the kitchen with outdoor couch area, dining table and even a TV outside. This was our second year coming to Helen for a long Oktoberfest weekend. Last year we stayed in a hotel. So glad we decided to rent a house this time. Everyone loved it!! Prior to the trip I had several questions for the property host and she always responded quickly to my emails. We will definitely be back to this beautiful spot.
We had an amazing stay at Hilltop Hideaway. The house was beautiful and it was in a great, quiet location. The best features for large groups (our group was 11 people, ages 6 to 71):
1) two comfy areas for gathering for sports/movie night/puzzles or games (basement TV area and screened in porch)
2) ample room in kitchen for running breakfast and dinner buffet lines...great seating for meals too!
Pantry space was tight, but I we hacked this by putting pantry items we didn't need till later in the trip in the giant closet upstairs.
Kids LOVED the hot tub, pool table, and games...no one ever said they were bored when we were at the house!
Easy access to Helen, Dalonega (38 min drive), and Jumping Goat coffee house (10 min) which had the most amazing view/hang out space groups.
We are very seriously considering moving our NC spring mountain trip here because the experience was so great!
The property was great! I’ve stayed in several VRBO’s and this was by far the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. So much easier to relax in home that is clean!!
Karen was great. We didn’t have any major problems but any questions we had she was quick to respond and offer solutions.
If stairs are an issue this might not be the place for you. The main bedroom is on the main floor but the couch is in the basement if you want a movie night or to just sit and relax.
Both the back porches and front porch are so relaxing.
If going into Helen is important this is a perfect place. Walking to town isn’t horrible but the drive is just a couple of minutes, but one back at the house you don’t feel so close to town.
This was the perfect place for my family of 8 to stay.
Located right in the heart of Helen, but on a hill above the crowds!
Oh my goodness … we GREATLY enjoyed our time at the Chalet. It was amazing. The Poole table, arcade, & hot tub have been my family’s favorite features. Mine was the kitchen. The functional space with the dishes and appliances I needed to keep my family fed was essential to our stay. The electric griddle came in handy and was used every day … from making hot sandwiches for lunch to bacon & pancakes in the morning. The washer & dryer came in clutch too. This property is located in the heart of Helen (the same road as the city hall & mountain coaster). The road is steep & takes you above the city for beautiful views of the valley below. Karen was responsive every time I messaged her. My family will remember this vacation fondly for years to come, mainly because of this beautiful property.
We met our extended family in Helen to celebrate my parents 60th anniversary. It was so wonderful to stay in this property. My husband and I stayed on the main floor in the master bedroom/bath. Our daughter stayed in the basement having her own bedroom, extended space, and bathroom. Our son stayed in one of the rooms upstairs with his own bathroom. We could have accommodated more family members very easily. The beds were all comfortable and the furnishings were beautiful and up to date. The vibe was very modern farmhouse and serene. We were all delighted to have stayed there—we felt very blessed!!!
Note: if you have anyone who cannot manage stairs, this place might be difficult for you because the living room is on the lower basement floor.
There are nice TVs in all bedrooms and on the main floor and in the basement living room. We loved the video arcade machines—several retro games on each one! The kitchen has all new appliances and plenty of cookware. The only thing lacking is space to keep food if you do plan to cook and you buy a lot of groceries.
The communication was great. We didn’t have any problems during our stay requiring me to contact the property owner, but I did request an early check-in. She was very gracious since the previous guests checked out a few days prior. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Helen, GA. If we come back, I hope this property is available again!!
The perfect place for our family ThanksChristgivingmas celebration! Stay here - you'll be glad!
We get together in December with our daughters and their families prior to Christmas to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas together. The last couple of places we stayed weren't so great. This year, however, we feel like we hit a home run with this location. The house was clean and inviting. There was plenty of room for the 10 of us....and being right in town was so convenient! There was a Christmas tree there on the main floor, so that was perfect for our gift-giving....to be able to load up the area around the tree made it feel very "Christmas at homey." Even the little kids enjoyed the arcade games (though they had no idea what they were doing... LOL) so that was fun. We never played pool, but it was nice to have the table there...I thought we would, but we had too many things going on...and the main floor with the huge dining table was the perfect space for all the activities my wife had planned for all the grandchildren. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we had everything we needed to prepare our meals. We grabbed Wendy's for the first evening as everyone was arriving, but after that we ate there at the house for all the other meals and didn't find ourselves missing a utensil or appliance or anything we needed. I didn't just give a 5-star rating on the questions above out of laziness...every one deserved a 5-star rating. One of the things that impressed me the most was responsiveness from the host. (I want to keep going but am running out of characters)
