Private Lakefront Home w/ Views & Dock in Hartwell
8/10 Good
"The property could use a little updating especially the outside but otherwise it’s a great place. Beautiful lake view and fun dock. Host was very responsive to any questions. The kitchen was updated and very nice. The indoor staircase was a little scary and would be difficult to manage for people with mobility issues. Also the rocks on the path to the lake were a little unstable. Overall, however we would go back and we had a great time."

"This is a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing escape for my husband and I and our two dogs. What I loved most was the open backyard straight to the lake. It was lined with trees so well behaved dogs will dart straight down to the beach without messing or being messed with other dogs. There are a few dogs in the neighborhood but all behind secure fences- they just make some noise that sets all the hounds barking. This place also provides two kayaks! I took my paddle board and this allowed my hubby and dogs to come along for paddling adventures every day we were there. We had absolutely silence, which was exactly what I needed. We saw deer, herons, turtles, and squirrels. The place is cozy but still has two bedrooms and a pullout sofa (if you bring kids). The bed was comfortable- we took the firm bed, the other was softer. The kitchen was well stocked (no toaster, if you are a toast eater!). The bathroom is small- if you are a big guy like my hubby- using the toilet was challenge. The shower is also fairly tight. Bring all your own toiletries- only minimum soap provided. There is a 100 pet fee. You are asked to start laundry, haul your trash out with you to some “recycle center” with no address or pay 5 for the maid to do it. Also, you are encouraged to tip the maid. We did since we know that extra sweeping will be in order with the dogs and beach sand. Even though it was a 4 hour drive we will be back!"
Summertime is calling! Relax at the Lake...
10/10 Excellent
"We were looking for a weekend getaway on Lake Hartwell for four and this place was ideal. It was a short walk to the dock which was very fishable. The walk was mostly level through a small section of woods. No steps. The home was well appointed with everything we needed. It was about 5 minutes from downtown. Would definitely recommend."
