This is an incredibly unique property and unique stay. It’s very remote, tucked into the woods down a 2.25 mile dirt road. It’s a very unexpected sight as it’s definitely old school north woods. I loved it. I drove 4 days from California and it was the cleanest and most comfortable room I experienced. Do note there’s a possibility you may have to share a bathroom, although I lucked out and didn’t experience that. The manager and Alex the cleaner were very kind. My sister from MN envied my description, particularly that of the bar on the first floor. Again, very uniquely colorful place.

Staff was great, bar was fun. Room may have been a little dated, but it was very clean, and beds were more comfortable than most newer hotels.

The staff was very kind and hospitable. The room was nice, cozy and very relaxing. The bar had drinks that we didn’t get a chance to have but assume were delicious. The beds were soft, and bouncy, very capable of generating good momentum. 😂 The bar had wonderful food, we tried the pizza and the burgers. Both delicious, but the burgers were next level artisanal burgers. Absolutely delicious. I can't wait to return to the Lost Pines Lodge. We had the best weekend. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful stay.

Very secluded place. Impressed with restaurant, bar, and hotel.although it is somewhat dated, very comforable, very good location and great get away place. Would definately stay again. Especially good for snowmoblers or atv. Lots of beautiful trails at your doorstep

Staff was great! However, our room was right above the bar and the bar doesn’t close until 3am. The motel is very outdated but clean.

This is a great place overall. So cute and cozy. Me and my family stayed here to go to the cherry fest and we so impressed with how clean everything was. The staff is amazing. Normally I get scared to stay in hotels based off cleanliness but this place was like a home away from home. The bed was so comfortable I slept amazing. There is so many great things to do such as boat rentals and side by sides. Overall loved it!

This property was being run by very young adults. When we checked in, a very young male had to call his Mom on the phone to get our room details. We went up to the room and the bathroom door was locked. A young woman came up and got it unlocked. We were very disturbed to find out that is was a shared bathroom. The door to the adjoining room was partially open. The bathroom had dirty towels spread about. We had our 2 grandsons with us. This was not a safe environment. There was a bar below us and it was packed with locals. When I booked the room I booked a cabin but when we got there we had a room in the lodge. I recommend you stay away from this property.

Staff helpful but TV not functioning, no chair or place for luggage, coffee maker didn’t work, toilet didn’t work properly. No one there in morning to address problems with, Wasn’t aware site was three miles down dirt roads. Food was good in evening and owner’s son was as helpful as he could be. Had paid for two nights which was a mistake as we couldn’t stay the second night in those conditions, “Only $100” should at least have minimum amenities and functioning facilities.

Only 35 miles from Traverse City, but you’d think you were further, this remote lodge in the Huron-Manistee National Forest is a hidden gem! Somewhat difficult to get to, but worth it if you want to enjoy nature at its finest! Surrounded by tall pines, you are cut off from all city distractions and can truly relax in nature. Groomed trails for ATV and snowmobiles, if you’re into that (alot of their guests are, but that did not detract from the overall experience). Mine was a summer stay; I expect winter snowmobile traffic would make it more raucous. This is not glamping or a luxury stay; it is a basic “up north” experience that is refreshingly real.

This is obviously a loved hotel with plenty of history and staff who care about it and the guests. It's been years since I've come across a hotel that was this clean. The bar offered good food and drinks and Trivia Night was entertaining! Special note: The water straight from the tap is better than any bottled water out there. Absolutely would stay here again
