very lovely

Posted 22-Dec-2016 on Orbitz
Pros: wonderful walking tour guide for Aarti celebration, wonderful restaurant in hotel, tea time available on deck on the Ganges river, and cute decor.
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable, the mattress was set up on like marble, so I would not recommend for many nights.
Location: great location, many shops near by and street food
only stayed for one night. had to take a rickshaw to the hotel, which is a good experience if you have not been on a cycle rickshaw, we are not fans. the hotel was welcoming and conveniently located by many shops and right on the river. Were able to step into river on ground floor. Restaurant in hotel had amazing food, lunch tray was the best. The walking tour to help navigate the Aarti was our first tour and it was very helpful to have someone tell us what to do in the chaoticness of India celebrations. Overall very good experience

Haridwar stay

Posted 04-Dec-2016 on Hotels
This was a repeat stay. And as per initial stay was not disappointed. Met a few guests who were also repeat. Main selling point is the location and overall ambience. Extras like Hindu priest who tells your fortune can't hurt the Hotel. Food is excellent and freshly prepared - vegetarian

This place is like a beautiful dream

Posted 28-Nov-2016
There is nothing like this hotel, maybe being right on the Ganges gives it a special feeling too -- they actually have their own ghat into the river, and nice balcony areas overlooking. The staff is over 1000% excellent, they are so kind and really look after you. The food there is incredible - being in Haridwar, it is vegetarian of course-- if they opened a franchise of their restaurant in new york or the bay area, people would be lined up, have to make reservations a month ahead. They also had live musicians in the evenings, performing bhajans. The hotel and the rooms are really beautiful, it is a stately old building-- a kind of palace. Very comfortable rooms. They have a spa and all sorts of massage, meditation, yoga and ayurvedic kinds of things available for very reasonable. The location is also excellent-- very near har ki pauri ghat, where they do a beautiful Ganga Aarti ceremony, and mansa devi temple, a thriving walkable market area just outside. We were quite sad to leave. One could easily spend at least a week here and rejuvenate, relax and recharge. Hope to come back here some day, it was truly lovely.

Very pleasant hotel by the Ganga river

Posted 24-Nov-2016
Cons: It felt a bit damp in the evening at this time of the year(Nov)
The best part of the hotel is its location right on the river Ganga, There is a wonderful patio overlooking the river, with tables and chairs to relax. We visited in November; the afternoon sun in very pleasant at this time on the patio. The breakfast/lunch/dinners are very nice. They are Indian vegetarian and cooked very well, and not spicy. The staff were very nice and responsive to requests. The main Har ka Pauri temple in Haridwar is a 10 min walk from the hotel.

Beautiful hidden gem in the middle of a busy area.

Posted 11-Sep-2016
The hotel is impeccably maintained, and it offers many complimentary services that really enhance ones experience of the hotel and culture of the area. The hotel felt more like home, the staff was nice, helpful and responsive. The architectural detail is beautiful, it felt like we were in a different time period. The complimentary breakfast was excellent and the food in general was delicious. The morning fire ceremony was very special and it made the start of the day spiritual and in line with the spirit of Haridwar. The kirtan at night was beautiful and it was a nice way to end the day. We attended the local Arti ceremony guided by the hotel staff who provided us with vip access. The staff even negotiated the best price for a rickshaw to Rishikesh and went with us to purchase tickets for the temple of consciousness and advised us on what to expect and what to do. They even went shopping with us. The room was beautiful and comfortable. I didn't want to leave.

This is a great place to stay in the area! The rooms are decent. With the exception of one front desk staff, the staff is pleasant and friendly. Would consider staying here next time.

very nice hotel on the banks of Ganges

Posted 01-Nov-2015
Excellent Location, Right on Ganges river, very cordial, helping staff, phenomenal healthy vegetarian food for both Brkfst & Dinner. Only downside is that cars are not allowed near the hotel They will give you a 10 min man pulled f Rikshaw ride from Parking lot to the hotel. Traditionally decorated eclectic rooms quite comfortable. Overall very happy with our stay.in late October 2015 RamC

Room was very neat. Hotel staff very friendly. However the hotel is not accessible by car and we had to walk for about 500m with our luggage on a very busy road before finding the place.
