Quiet and serene, right off scenic M119 /Tunnel of Trees is our little cottage on (the big) Lake Michigan. Plenty of sleeping space and just steps away down the path to expansive and private Chippewa Cove Woods Association Lake Michigan frontage. The cottage is well appointed for meals in, though just minutes to neighboring communities for meals out. Accommodations are thoughtfully procured to ensure a comfortable stay. Thoroughly refreshed kitchen goods, beds and bath linens. New carpet in bedrooms (fall 2022), remodeled half-bath/laundry (spring 2023), renovated kitchen and new hardwood flooring (spring 2024), and more updates to come. Main floor has three bedrooms (two queens and a king), two full and one half bath. Sleeping loft has four twin beds and a tv/sitting area. \*Portable a/c unit in the loft area only\* Walk the beach or swim in the crystal clear water. Enjoy sunsets from the beach, deck, kayaks, or paddle boards. Take a walk through the association trails, play Cornhole on the beach, or bike along M119 to the Good Hart General Store to grab some goodies and souvenirs. Minutes from Petoskey and Harbor Springs and all those areas have to offer! Summertime at the lake, fall color/wine tours, skiing at Nub's Nob or The Highlands, and much more! Chippewa Cove Woods Association is a wooded, quiet, family-friendly oasis on the shore of Lake Michigan. Originating in the early 1900's, it has been enjoyed by families every summer since its inception. In order to continue the tradition, please recognize the surroundings as serene and peaceful. Be respectful of neighbors and the grounds. \*\*Please note: Chippewa Cove Association Rules and Regulations MUST be followed by all members of your party. Any violations MAY result in immediate removal from the property and no refund issued. These rules and regs will be outlined on VRBO property listing and at the cottage. Please familiarize yourself with them to ensure an enjoyable stay for you and for our neighbors.\*\* 1\. This is a NO SMOKING HOME-inside and outside. Absolutely NO SMOKING. 2\. Fire is a constant danger. Therefore, no beach fires are allowed. Only fires in the Solo Stove on the deck are permitted. A hose is located by the shed in the front yard for emergencies. 3\. No pets allowed. 4\. ABSOLUTELY NO EVENTS. The rental contract is for the amount of people staying at the house only, max of 10 people. Guest day visits are allowed, however, vehicles are to be on driveway only, NEVER on the main road going in and out of the Cove. Our septic system WILL NOT accommodate large parties-registered guests only. No one wants a sewer backup ruining their vacation. 5\. The posted speed limit for the Cove is 10mph. There are residents walking, kids playing, and animals roaming...observe the speed limit and be respectful of all. 6\. Please observe noise reduction by 11pm. Sounds travels exceptionally well at the beach and we want to ensure all visitors are respectful of this. \========================================================== Our family recently purchased the cottage and have begun lovingly improving the property for many more years of enjoyment. More updates to come as we make this our up north retreat. It's 10 min from Good Hart General Store, 25 minutes from Cross Village, 35 from Harbor Springs and 40-45 from Petoskey so stock up on groceries or plan on driving time to shops/ restaurants. Glorious stars at night and lovely private beach with beach toys, chairs, kayaks provided. If you like quiet and solitude and retreat, this is a perfect place. Every time you go into town you get to enjoy the relaxing drive while seeing the beauty of the fall leaves. Not only do you have these two aspects tied into this place, but you have a beautiful footpath from the back deck that leads you to a gorgeous spot on the beach! Like I said, the best of all the worlds that you can get up north. They have kayaks and paddle boards and even life jackets for you to borrow to get out on the water. Inside is very accommodating as well with as close to a fully stocked kitchen as one can get without having your grocery trip done for you in advance! My family loved staying here. ##### Mariel B. The house was the best appointed rental we've ever had. The new linens and bedding were resort quality. They provided alot of things that others have not in the past - all the beach towels/chairs/toys, paper products, and cooking essentials. The 2 TV's were great considering we had a mix of kids/teens/adults - both with fire sticks to allow for streaming all your channels. The wifi was great- in the past we had to drive to the general store to get a signal lol! Nothing beats the beach at this house and it was huge this year. We can't wait to come back again next year. There was everything you could want for baking or cooking dinner, spices, flour, sugar, and even coffee for the morning. The host supplied all the toilet paper and paper towels we needed (with a family of 7 we often need to restock). There were games, and puzzles and the most surprising and fun of all was the selection of best seller books that lined the walls and the bedrooms. For outdoors the kayaks and paddle boards and solo stove and gas grill were all so appreciated and useful. The location of this beautiful space on the lake was just a mile from Good Hart General Store where coffee and snacks can be picked up quickly and easily. Harbor Springs was only 20 minutes down the road and Petoskey just 4O minutes away. There was so much to do at the lake house that we didn’t spend as much time as we thought we would exploring the surrounding towns. The sandy beach was only steps from the house (there are a few stairs from the deck to the beach but it’s only 15ish and not as many as the photos might suggest). The house was perfect and even more beautiful than photos can capture. We hope to return as soon as possible. ##### Tamar Supastar M. Her place while a little further to get to is well worth the time. It is far from town, so keep that in mind when making the drive in because there isn't a quick trip to the market at night (although the general store down the road has a few things and makes great sandwiches, cookies and pies!). The beach is a little walk across the dunes to lead you to basically a private beach. Some had a little algae washing up, but our beach stayed relatively clear most days. No need to pack chairs as she had plenty for our group to bring down, along with a couple kayaks and SUPs if you were so inclined. The house itself was well appointed with a more equipped kitchen that ours at home, including a Keurig, enameled stock pot, fry pan, oils, spices, and even a Vitamix! It was great having a 3rd bathroom and a full size washer and dryer which typically had a load of clothes or towels going each night. Beds were comfy and while it lacks AC, there were plenty of fans for the cool nights despite day temps into the upper 80's/low 90's. This place will knock your socks off and we hope to be fortunate to be return guests if we can swing it again. It was a great place to gather with family and Julie has an amazing home and is one of the best hosts you could ask for, if I could give a sixth star, we would would!! ##### NavidandAllison V.
