The best time to go to Hali is during the summer months, from June to August, or for winter activities, from October to March. The summer offers the mildest weather and the longest daylight hours, with the sun barely setting in June and July. This makes it ideal for exploring the natural wonders around Hali, such as the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, without the chill of winter. It's also the best time for boat tours on the lagoon, as the ice has melted enough to allow for navigation. For those interested in the Northern Lights, the winter months from October to March provide the best opportunity to witness this natural phenomenon. While the days are short and the weather can be cold and unpredictable, the dark skies away from city lights offer prime viewing conditions. Many local tours operate specifically for Northern Lights hunting during this period.
