"Absolutely lovely rental with comfortable lounging spaces, loads of views from the slope of Haleakala, quiet (well, those francolins are a bit insistent!) and clean. If you like cool nights and feeling like you are close to the stars, this is the place to be! The bedroom is on the second floor, so must be good with stairs, but it's such a nice retreat. Easy location to get to and from, and the hosts were excellent."

"We had a great stay and loved the llamas and alpacas. The cottage was cute, cozy, and well stocked and the hosts were great. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and patio each evening after days spent exploring Maui. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet and the location was a great “home base” to explore the island."

"My wife and I had a great stay at Char’s place for my wife’s birthday. It’s in a great central location for traveling all over the island. Great access point for Haleakala too. The villa and views are both amazing. Very responsive host.We rode out hurricane Lala there. Quite exciting."

"We've stayed in a lot of different rental properties, but this one is our all-time favorite. A beautiful house that's both comfortable and stylish. A gorgeous setting, with great views in every directions. Very helpful hosts. And a great slice of Hawaii, so different than all the resort areas."

"If you are looking for a kicked-back, upcountry bungalow, this property is it. This is not a sterile condo, it is a quirky, lush property on a 1-lane road (great for walking) about 15 minutes from major amenities. There is an on-site property manager who is very helpful but leaves you alone. The island and upland views are beautiful and ever-changing with the changing cloud cover. When the clouds lift at night, the stars are spectacular. Not for everyone but we loved it."
