Charming cottage with outstanding hosts. Comfortable and clean. Delicious desserts as a surprise. Caught some fish at the pond. Felt part of their family.
This was more than just a cabin it was an experience! What rich history of the property and the host were like family. The cabin was cozy, comfortable and welcoming from the first minute. The outdoor surrounds were lush and pretty. The pond and chickens was a big hit with our kids. Susan and Dave were so kind and made us wonderful desserts too. Great place to unplug and enjoy the mountains.
This place is amazing! Dave and Susan are the absolute best hosts! This was one of our best family vacations. The boys went to the pond everyday to fish. They loved the paddle boat and caught lots of trout! We played ping pong everyday. We hiked around their property - it was absolutely beautiful. We played disc golf at the course on their property. It was so much fun and a beautiful course! We played cards and listened to music every night. We had a lot of laughs as a family - no internet or cell service. It was exactly what we needed! We loved getting to know Dave, Susan, and Blake. You couldn't ask for a nicer family! We will absolutely be back next year!
We loved the Hardscrabble Cabin history, it’s restoration and family history about the location, which made our trip and experience even more fantastic! A very comfy cabin!! Historic elegance with loads of Colorado hospitality by our hosts!! AND a beautiful professionally designed mountain disc golf courses is located on the property! A mix of technical open short and long holes with elevation changes that make this course fun and challenging! A must location and stay for any level disc golfer and Colorado history and nature lover!!
This was a delightful experience in an authentic log cabin in a beautiful remote alpine setting. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer and we were welcomed like family.
We had an amazing time staying at the Cross Creek cabin. It was clean, cozy, and relaxing. The hosts made us feel like family. Our kids had so much fun exploring, playing in the creek and playing ping pong. We can’t wait to go back next summer!
Wow. The property was spectacular. We hiked and played frisbee golf and relaxed in the mountains for three beautiful days. The people were just as noteworthy. Our car started having trouble on the way to the cabin, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating, generous, and helpful as we attempted to continue our family vacation. We enjoyed our time with them in every way.
With all the craziness going on right now my husband and I had a hard time figuring out where to go and what to do for our first wedding anniversary. Luckily, I stumbled across Cross Creek Ranch and the hardscrabble cabin, three days before the weekend arrived. Susan and Dave were great about communicating directions and things to do around the area. They made us feel very welcome on their ranch. The cabin was prefect! Clean, warm, we loved the wood burning fireplace. We had everything we needed for a wonderful, romantic weekend getaway. Susan and Dave came to our rescue when we woke up Sunday morning to a flat tire. Dave had a compressor, filled up the tire and Susan made phone calls to find somewhere we could fix our tire before heading home. She even offered to come find us with the compressor if we didn’t get to our destination within a certain amount of time. Truly incredible people. Thank you, Susan, Dave, Blake and Kelly for sharing your little slice of heaven with us! We can’t wait to come back.
This was our 4th time at the cabin. Susan and Dave Scott are the best host in the world. They have become really good friends. It is absolutely beautiful and peaceful there in the mountains.
It is truly God's country and we look forward to our 5th visit. When you want to unplug and relax, this is the place to do it.
This is a great place in the mountains. The host made us feel like family. Far enough out to explore all of what the back country of Colorado has to offer but close enough to a town. Black bear cub, a herd of elk and drove through Two double rainbows all on the road leading to the cabin.. This place is off the grid, so if you are needing the city this isn't for you. We would come again..M.S
