We enjoyed our 3 nights at the San Carlos in this unit. It was roomy and updated and in a great location. Beach chair service was great, and check in and out of course was easy. We come down to Gulf Shores every summer, The condo was clean and views were gorgeous, however, our first night there I called about a broken shower head and was told I would get a call back from the maintenance team. Never received a call back, and ended up going to Walmart and just buying a new shower head to use. The second night we were woken up by a faulty fire alarm at 5:30am. Obviously shaking up everyone of us. I called the emergency maintenance number, the lady that answered tried to reach the maintenance team and said they aren't answering but that she would have them call me back. Again never received a call back. Then upon returning to the condo later that night around 8:00, the fire alarm went off again, sending my 8 year old into a panic attack. When I called that time, the lady on the phone even heard my son crying hysterically in the background. My brother in law had to take the batteries out of the smoke detectors to get the noise to stop so we could calm my son down. We were told to just leave them without the batteries and maintenance would come the next day to fix the issue. After finally getting my son calmed down enough to sleep, he woke up from nightmares the next 2 nights. Then, they changed the key code to get in the room a day early so we were locked out and had to find someone to get us in because of yet another unanswered call to maintenance. A few things I would change. The couch is broken and nowhere in master bathroom to put your toiletries in the shower . The shower floor in master shower is very slick also. The balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean. I also liked the fact they had a big air mattress that was easy to blow up for the kids and they had beach umbrella, chairs, inner tubes and pool noddles for us to use. Great space for any family to enjoy. The only issue was there were so many remotes to the tv in the living room it was kind of confusing at first.
