Plus, as an added bonus, our Fort Morgan vacation homes are not currently subject to the same restrictions on setting up umbrellas and other amenities overnight as those in Gulf Shores itself. 2x 7BR 5.5BA. POOL? You Bet! Private pool PER SIDE, sheltered under the home. No sharing with the other side. HUGE wide open beach area! The pool is open all year, and is 16x16' L-Shape, 3-4' deep. The homes share a deck that takes you down to the expansive white sand beach. Plenty of room for beach volleyball or whatever moves your group! A secure, interconnecting doorway allows large groups to use both sides of this lovely home to host up to 48 people! PARKING There is available onsite parking for at least 4 cars per side. Good stackers can pull off more. Bad stackers? Well, not so much! WIFI/INTERNET YES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid and ran > 100Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction! SOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETC As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well. No smoking please, but feel free to eat lots of shrimp, bask in the warm sun, and have a great time! Fort Sun was as described and was a great fit for our extended family. Plenty of room. Views were awesome and the beach is a short walk right off the back of the house. We loved being right on the beach. The view of the ocean and especially the sunrise was awesome! The private pool was definitely a plus! We were three families coming together for our annual vacation, with ages from 2 to 60, and it accommodated us all very well. We arrived a little early and knew we would have to hang out downstairs while they finished cleaning. The cleaning staff were very nice and did a great job. Thanksgiving with our adult kids and grands--the whole gang! So nice being right on the beach. Fort Sun was perfect for us. Lots of stairs, but that's to be expected in a beach house. This duplex is made for our extended family. There is a door that connects the two units, Fort Sun East and West. That allowed us privacy with easy accessibility to our cousins. We loved all the bathrooms and bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, and two refrigerators was very nice. Property manager was easy to contact. We loved the easy beach access and enjoyed the pool. We also loved that we didn't have to worry about putting the trash cans on the road, and that we didn't have to do much cleaning up to leave. We were a little dismayed that access to two of the bedrooms was only through other bedrooms. We worked it out, but I can imagine that for some families this could be a problem. Super nice to be right on the beach and the Fort Morgan area has a very nice and relaxed feel to it. The kids loved the pool but it was a little small for all 19 of us (we knew it would be small based on pictures though). The local company was quick to respond to texts about needed items in the kitchen and brought them the next morning. Check in was super easy. Lots of emails and communication that was helpful. Fort Morgan is kind of in the boonies (30 minute drive to Gulf Shores from Fort Sun) but makes the beach less crowded. We enjoyed our stay! ##### Mary B. This beach is beautiful!I meant to email you earlier in the week but it slipped my mind. We wanted to let you know the garbage disposal did not work which caused the sink to back up. We plunged it and it went down but wanted to let you know. One of the bed supports in the bunk room was broke too. The kids didn't tell us until we were getting ready to leave. The master bedroom on the third floor only had a jet tub which wasn’t convenient for the family who stayed in that room. The other bathrooms all had shower/tub combos. The beach area was clean and was easily assessed from the home being just steps away. The pool is on the small side but worked great for the kiddos or to jump into to cool off from being at the beach. It was great having two refrigerators but the door shelves did fall out easily. There was plenty of seating for everyone at dinner time with the bar and two tables. The outside patio furniture was in great shape and was good quality.
