During this period, the weather is generally milder with longer daylight hours, making it superb for boating on Lough Allen, fishing, or exploring the walking trails around the area. Many local businesses and attractions are fully operational, offering a wider range of activities. This is particularly good for families looking for an active holiday, as the good weather allows for plenty of time outdoors. If you prefer a more tranquil experience with fewer crowds, late spring (April and May) or early autumn (September and October) are excellent choices. The weather can still be pleasant, though cooler, and the natural scenery is often at its most beautiful, with spring blossoms or autumn colours. This time is well-suited for couples or solo travellers seeking a peaceful retreat, perhaps enjoying leisurely drives through the countryside, visiting local craft shops, or simply unwinding by the lake without the summer rush.
