Tianhe, Guangzhou's modern Central Business District is famed for its mirrored skyscrapers, sleek shopping malls and swanky five star hotels, many with state-of-the-art spas. Next to Tianhe is the colourful Yuexiu District, regarded as Guangzhou's culture hotspot. Feast on suckling pig and freshly steamed dim sum along the narrow Canton streets of Liwan, or try local dishes such as stewed snake and crocodile at the legendary Fisherman's New Village restaurant in Panyu. Head to the Tianhe District for swish fine dining restaurants, or for a more traditional meal try one of the authentic family-run establishments in Shipai Village.
