Beautiful grounds accessed from the bar/rear of restaurant area - literally step outside and there they are. 10-15 minutes walk from the front of the hotel takes you into Sandsend, lovely village. Walk in the opposite direction takes you to Whitby, can walk or take car. Reception asked what our plans were each day, gave us parking disc for Whitby...gives you 3 hours in designated areas..perfect. Lovely hotel for a break that can be as relaxing or busy as you want it to be.

It’s technically near the beach but the cliff lift is out of action so it’s a walk to get there. The quietness is the problem as the area feels residential. To get into Whitby is a fair walk down.
