Location is amazing. We were in a rainforest room on the hill side of the main road but had a sea view still. Room was very nice & large with deck. Underpass leads to restaurant & beach so easy to cross. The walk on the track to Pancakes Rocks is scenic and saves driving. Dinner (venison ribs) was very nice. Breakfast was reasonable but no egg person so just scrambled eggs on offer. Coffee was filter from machine only but was advised at check out that we could have ordered coffee (at additional cost) but no wait staff let us know during breakfast. At the level the hotel is at I would at least expect a more comprehensive coffee machine or 1 coffee as part of breakfast as is the norm on our travels.

The room was fantastic we really loved it. It's right on the ocean next to the pancake rocks. We both agree that if we ever get back to New Zealand we would like to stay here for a few days if possible. It was just a stopover for us but very memorable, we watched the sunset over the ocean. Just a really nice place. Thumbs up.
