Good Points: Location - everything you need is within walking distance. Spa/Leisure centre - good facilities, we only used the pool which was the main attraction for the kids, nice and warm and appeared clean. Bad Points We were in a family room with two double beds, it was very spacious which was handy with a 2 & 4 year old and a newborn. Decor however was very dated, carpets were stained, there were two empty beer cans sitting behind the tv and this all left you wondering exactly how clean the room was. We looked at having breakfast in the morning however at £16.95 a head for a scottish breakfast we decided we would rather starve! How they think that cost is justified baffles me. Parking was another 'issue' i had. £7 a day parking charge, i understand its city centre so some would say its reasonable, i personally just think if you are paying to stay in a hotel then free parking should be included.

Nice hotel, wish I had bit more time to use the facilities. Within minutes of local hotspots.

Not worth the price.

Posted 23-Apr-2016
We had to asked for towels after we checked in. The toilet seat was hanging loose in our room. The air conditioning/heater was very noisy and we can hear the noise in our sleep. Finally, we had to checkout early because there was filming crews on the streets with access to the hotel therefore we must vacated before 8am or we wouldn't be able to until after 8pm. We weren't told this until the night before.

Nice hotel just 10 min walk to city center

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: 4 stars hotel just 10 min walk to city center. We loved having coffee and tea in our room.
Location: Just 10 min walk to Central station and city center. There are some small supermarkets in the same street. Love the spa inside the hotel
The hotel facilities very really nice. Staff very friendly and always available to help. We loved the spa. Our rooms was always very clean and tidied up. We also loved the fact that it only takes 10 min walk to city center.

Quiet hotel near Central Station

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Quite a good hotel very near station. Nice big room and very comfortable. The furniture a little dated and the bathroom needed repair to the tiles above the mirror and some grouting was missing. A nice hot shower and toiletries provided. However, this was not a oroblem to spoil a stay. The breakfast was adequate. Pleasant dining -room But food and drink prices on the high side so did not eat there. Pleasant helpful staff and a nice pool and jacuzzi. However, the pool area is used by members of the leisure club and despite notices of children having to be 12 plus, there were very young children using the jacuzzi with the staff turning a blind eye. Overall, would recommend for the large rooms and close proximity to the centre of the city and the station.

Been here many times and slowly deteriorating. But

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Pros: location, staff and ease to move around - AND safe car parking (even though i never needed my car)
Cons: Towels in the swimming pool and prices really need a look at in the bar.
Location: Lots to do nearby sightseeing and eating seem to be my favourites and there is no shortage of things to see and do (or eat)
I have stayed here when it was the Milton hotel, then Menzies hotel and now Hallmark. It hasnt changed much in any décor way or set up reception, pool gym and rooms etc. but over the time the change of ownership has tightened its belt. What i mean by this is they have had to make small savings and put prices up where possible (i suppose all businesses are doing this now, if they can). However the main thing i noticed was the quality of the towels in the swimming area were a little over-washed and overused and the price of food here is very expensive - on par with a very good restaurant outside. Which is where I would recommend you to go. Saying this if you don't use the pool or eat here then this is a great hotel. Parking is safe opposite and wherever you want to be in Glasgow the taxis are all very cheap and friendly. Which you can order from reception. It looks like the location is out of town, but with the SECC about 15 min walk and Central railway stn about 20 mins at the most and a plethora of restaurants in and about town of a variety of styles, Mother India, Mr Signs, Indian Choaphara Thai and the mussel inn (my favourite). Book it you wont be overall disappointed.

Not great

Posted 28-Feb-2016 on Hotels
We have stayed at this hotel on a few occasions but the room we were allocated was 613 and it was terrible. It was really dark, the curtains were all ripped and when I went to inspect the bathroom I found that someone had peed and not flushed. We did not have time to speak to reception about it that night but on check out the following morning we spoke to the receptionist and have to say that she was very apologetic and would note these faults and pass them onto the duty manager. The hotel rooms could do with a makeover so perhaps the new owners might do something about it.

Ridiculous hotel policy

Posted 28-Feb-2016 on Hotels
Disappointed that the receptionist wanted to charge me full price £12.99 for breakfast because I didn't book it when I checked in, but later that same day while the guy checking in next to me was offered breakfast for £7.99. Ridiculous hotel policy. As long as your not asking on day of breakfast you should be able to decide within a couple of hrs of checking in.
